2023 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball Cards Checklist, Odds and Team Lists

so Topps needs to admit they made a mistake..

there is no way that the Uranus inserts are 1 in 20000 packs
just saw 5 cases broken today .. thats like about 1400 packs

and there were 3 Uranus hits…
also the math from Juju makes sense and the other planets are much tougher…
just go search on ebay for each of the different planets and you will see Uranus is a lot
there have been over 120 Uranus listed so far and much less of jupiter saturn etc
pluto is the toughest obviously..

NO WAY that Uranus is 1 in ~20000 packs

Topps – please make this right so that people know how rare these cards really are.
Uranus odds are really much lower

a little pricey but the hits are beautiful. Just pulled a launched into orbit of Juan Soto #/50. Not in the checklist but looks like a gold version.

What is Topps/Fanatics trying to do-grab everybody’s money as fast as they can!
Why does it seem Topps comes out with Chrome platinum anniversary every month?! Forget about it. Enough already. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t need to chase down every single parallel in the rainbow+ dupe styles: red-red wave, gold-gold wave, orange-orange wave etc, etc, etc….please! Thanks but no thanks!! Panini’s not off the hook either with too many parallels-I will say I do like the addition of multiple case hits-I mentioned this to my LCS guy and he said-well, more than one it wouldn’t be called a case hit then! I said sure it would-who said a case hit has to be only one?! How about cards go back to almost the way they were??!! Only with an auto, a relic or two, a variation and a few parallels! Like Diamond Kings-they’re the best cards all around!
Hey, anyone know what ever happened to Gridiron Kings??? I began to have misgivings about Panini products with their redemption cards, then their points cards, then their QC, then I wasn’t fanatic about Topps or vice versa? I’m a little worried about the hobby?! I shouldn’t be.

There was a cosmic chrome last year? Topps/Fanatics maybe going down the Panini and having a set name for every word in the dictionary.

how are people paying hundreds of $ for the Planetary Pursuit SUN cards… they are like 1 in 6 boxes…

I think Topps messed up with the Planetary Pursuit cards….

for those who watched breaks today, and also looked up the cards that showed up on ebay..
you will notice a trend that clearly indicates that something is messed up…
you wont find any Pluto, or Neptune, makes sense I guess
BUT you will find a large amount of Uranus cards, most breakers who maybe did 5-6 cases all hit 1-2 Uranus cards and there is a lot of them on ebay.
but then the next 2 levels after that Saturn and Jupiter, much fewer of those, comparitively
for some reason.. Uranus is definitely NOT 1 in 20000+ packs.. if everyone is hitting them while breaking just a couple of cases.
Just do a search on ebay for 2023 topps cosmic pursuit to see which planets got hit and there are WAY WAY too many Uranus hits already on the first day.
I dont think anyone should trust in the rarity of those cards based on what can easily be seen that there is more of them out there and they are definitely not bring pulled according to the odds given.
I am Staying away from those cards.

Here is some quick math..
Last years … 2022 Cosmic Chrome
Using the base set Superfractor odds..
200 card base set…
odds of hitting a super.. 1 in 1791 packs
so 200 X 1791 = 358200 div by 20 packs per box = 17910 boxes div by 12 box/case = 1492 cases
very low print run…..
there were no numbered cards higher than 99…. this was good… very good..
hence product started at $200 US and went up.. and is rare and hard to find at over $500 a box now

for 2023 Cosmic…
using base set superfractor odds
odds of hitting a super 1 in 4763 packs….. yikes.
so 200 X 4763 = 952600 div by 20 packs per box = 47630 boxes div by 12 box/case = 3969 cases
they added the base parallels numbered of 199..
so the number of parallels numbered to 99 or less is the same over the 200 base set… the extra 2500 cases are all filled with 199 parallels ( so not exactly per box but over the whole print run)
they just gave us more boxes and raised the price to start to over close to $400.. but no value but more 199 refactors…..

BUT>>>>

based on 952600 total packs
the Planetary Pursuit cards .. 10 players per planet
odds would say there are like only….
2 of each player for Pluto
3 of each for Neptune
5 of each for Uranus
10 of each for Saturn
20 of each for Jupiter
60 for Mars
100 for Earth
~ 200 for Venus
~ 350 for Mercury
~ 500 for the Sun
this kinda chase… for the really short ones..is what will make this product fly off the shelves even though its highly produced….
dont quote me on this… but the lower run planets.. could get crazier than any Kaboom or Downtowns at their peak…. for certain players…
Let the Pursuit begin!!

I don’t know why you think this is mass produced. It is one of the hardest products to get off the year. Last years print run was 10 percent of Topps chrome

These are nice looking but the flippers can keep it at this price point. Only a fool would pay this for a mass produced product with no guarantee of much inside. If your smart let others take the hit and buy their tears….I mean singles at a huge discount. Stay away! You will be much happier in the long run.
