When you get one insert per pack and those inserts are really the only thing of value, then they had best be worth the $120 you’re spending. The problem is, outside of the young guns and on the off-chance you get a green or purple Colors & Contours extended series card, you’re wasting your money. 24 packs means they value inserts at $5 per, but most of the inserts will wind up on eBay for about a buck. The items of value, the Young Guns, are all trash – not just because half the players have barely played in the NHL, but they’re all in the worst condition – nicked corners, and the tops of these cards are rough cut. I bought 8 hobby boxes and 2 blaster boxes, spending upwards of a grand. I got the correct number of young guns – 48 from the hobby boxes and 4 from the blaster boxes. ALL 48 from the hobby boxes had some quality issue, whereas 1 of the 4 from the blasters had a quality issue. 49 out of 52 (including 2 Juraj Slavkovsky’s and 2 Shane Wrights) either had bad corners or rough cuts up top. Most of the other inserts were fine. When the only thing of value is not in top condition, why am I even buying them? Sure, they’ll replace the cards, but it’s so time consuming taking pictures and documenting everything. Spend $120 and everything of value, including a French Parallel Andrei Kuzmenko that sells online for $100 is in garbage condition? And the most excitement for the product is at the beginning, so I’m losing out on the doubles I could be selling because by the time they get these replaced, the demand will have died down, and I won’t even be able to recoup some of my investment! When you pay this much, the cards had best be at least flawless to the naked eye. I’m done with UD.

This is Just a fun basic flag ship brand. Reading the comments about how they couldn’t make money on their purchases is comical. Not anywhere does it state or guarantee value. STOP LISTENING TO GEOFFY WILSON TYPES. This is a hobby not an investment. Once a fool always a fool rings true in this industry of Investors.

After 4 different release delays, the product was finally available and I opened 3 hobby cases. Not 1 High Gloss card in 3 cases. Not 1 Young Guns Exclusive in 3 cases. The 90 card canvas set couldn’t come close to being completesd.
It was missing 30 cards to complete the set, but I got 3 copies of 20 different canvas cards. Terrible assortment. And just like all of their products since 2020, there was a high quantity of damaged cards right out of the pack. So many cards had dinged corners/creases/surface dents. At least 1 card out of every pack had a frayed edge from the cutting process. Upper Deck continues to disappoint. There is no reason to purchase from them anymore. With the frequent delays, dilution of the products, and increasing damage that they have started to refuse to replace, makes this my last purchase after decades of collecting. They should be ashamed of themselves. It is 2022-23 playoffs and some 2021-22 products still haven’t been released.

what a waste of money and time .. spend over 100 dollars for maybe 10-15 dollars worth of garbage that wouldnt even sell on feebay … i cant control my anger right now .. i feel like hurting someone or myself .. im tired of getting ripped off and losing money .. spend over a 100 dollars you should get at least one decent or fun card

If you are up for the challenge, I counted 43 different rookie cards for Jake Sanderson plus printing plates in this product. Fun to collect if you just want one player on a list. Probably pretty tough to complete.

Although the Series 1 photos are interesting, I don’t think I will invest in a hobby of Series 2. Some Young Guns are neither young or guns. Why toss in a mascot in place of a player? This is somewhat insulting.

What is with Upper Deck using John Tavares and Alex Ovechkin as cover photos. Always showcasing the Leafs and a player who is great but for political reasons should not be on the cover of anything right now.

Same as the retired stars list, always the same list. Weird how there is no respect for Luongo, the Sedins and Daniel Alfredsson.

Time to recognize Tim Stützle, Jason Robertson, Rasmus Dahlin, Jack Hughes, Cale Makar , Brady Tkachuk and other young stars on some Upper Deck product. I do understand McDavid getting the love.

Can’t wait for this release …any word if it will be pushed past april 5th to the Toronto Expo???
Series 2 usually has OPC update is this not the case for this year??

Save your money, take your 80 -100 and invest in 3 Stutzle YG, 3 Quinton Byfield, 2 Matty Beniers, . I will take 3 stars over the odds presented. I pulled 4 great rookies out of 1 Topps 2023 baseball pack.

Ovie in the cover just shouts out that Upperdeck simply doens’t care. Why give space to guy who is simply mute and used as a political pawn.

My latest source tells me Upper Deck Series 2 will be delayed till March 15th.

Less than 3 weeks until this release and no sign of the Young Guns list… Who pre-orders without this? Any word when it might be announced?

4 YG’s per box? Is that a mistake? It says 1:6 packs at the top of the page and 6 per box at the bottom of the page…

Let me preface by saying that I love this hobby but the cost is getting way out of control. They are pricing us out of this and it is really sad. If i can no longer afford to continue to spend this amount of money to try to put together one complete set there is no way kids can do it. That said, it makes it even worse when you do spend all this money and rip packs and get a top rookie and it is already damaged straight from the pack. I have been a collector for 40 plus years and i have finally had it with this crap. Very sad as this was one thing that i had always looked forward to and now i see that series 2 is coming out 20 bucks higher than the already high priced series 1. I feel most for the kids that would like to buy packs at their local store but can’t because they are priced out. Even the “cheaper” issues like MVP and OPC are extremely high in price now. What used to be a fun reasonably priced hobby is no longer one unfortunately…

If series 2 is anything like series 1, DO NOT BUY. Quality major issue again, chipped corners, rough cut especially on the young guns cards, not sure of getting 4 young guns per box. Really to bad because the cards design is great. Way overpriced.
