opened 2 fat packs which contained zero inserts, parallels, variations or young guns

wasnt expecting a million dollar pull but wasnt expecting 60 base cards some duplicates

Thisnproduct I think is spot on for the “base” etc. I like’em. Very colorful and foil effects are right on point.

Cases are quite expensive for what you get – most case hits end up low value and/or can’t grade a 10 because of the quality. I had a Boldy clear cut that went straight from pack to PSA, and it came back a 9. :-(

I bought a few boxes on ePack to trade for foiling my team, but this isn’t a product you can plan on coming out ahead.

But ePack is fun. There are some variations – Honor Roll has green rainbow again (combine 10 to redeem), and there is an ePack-exclusive chase subset called Hockey on Display (similar to Ripple the Twine / Work Zone last year). They’re not great cards IMHO, just a way to coerce people to buy there too.

Hobby quality has been decent (although struggling to get big pulls) and retail quality has been poor. Getting tired of ripping with little to show for it.

what s going on with the starter kit and the tins..still not arrived yet???

How anyone could give this product 3 stars or higher is beyond me. Way overpriced, quality of cards still an issue. Not even sure of getting 4 young guns per box. Usually buy cases. NO MORE. Much too expensive.

Continuation of last years garbage. Slightly better quality wise but still a slap in the face. Inserts are becoming a joke.
Let’s make 3 sets, charge more and force people to buy more, more, more (while decreasing quality and I assume costs).
Sitting the rest of this year out.

Last year I blasted UD 1 & 2. I did not comment on the extended, though the quality was much better.
I have opened 11/12 boxes to this point and am pretty satisfied. No real case hits. So far a DWC Ray Bourque, AZ Patrick Kane, a few gold parallels. I’m really only after the YG’s but its nice to be able to pay for a portion of your boxes with strong pulls.

Does anyone know of the canvas photo variations? I think I may have two pre-game jerseys variations.

Despite some grumbling (probably because their team’s rookie didn’t get a card yet) the Young Guns class is quite strong… lots of high picks with potential. No auto or relics apparently but most of the time those were filler anyway. And QC WAY better than Series I last year

It DOES look nice. Quality control seems to be a lot better this year. I wasn’t happy with my first box, though. Only 4x Young Guns and 3 canvas cards. Nothing shocking from UD…

Lots of beat-up Young Guns again. Also, in my 6 boxes, there were a total of 36 “foil” base card parallels. They were the hit in each pack they were in. The look an awful lot like the epack exclusive foil cards. Not sure how or why they ended up in packs. Just means I have a big stack of these and missed out on a ton of the other inserts. Contacted UD, still no reply.

Cards look great. No damage on corners from my two boxes.

Canvas black are back as well. I got a YG that is definitely black (based on the back) but also has a black & white front photo, so not sure if that’s the new style, or if we have two tiers of black.

I agree, I think this rookie class looks great. I can’t wait to get my hands on Series 1 this year. Looks a lot better than last year’s product, and I love the new design.

I think you might need to brush up on your knowledge of top prospects. This crop is on par with previous years. As good as series 1 from 2021-22. Not quite as good as series 2. Boldy, Rossi, Beniers, Power, Quinn, Johnson, Brink, Reichel, Sogaard. And there are plenty of others who have a good chance of long, productive careers in the bigs.

The cards look very nice. But the Rookie selection is one of the worst in years. Beniers and Boldy are the only 2 worthwhile names in the bunch. Extended series are destroying the brand.

in the Series 1 Young Guns after last year’s extended young guns what is left?

Surprisingly, there was no mention of the UD Game Jersey line. I have no doubt that it will be in there.

Day With The Cup (1:4,320 packs). Since the team I support just won the cup I am looking forward to this.

Looks pretty good. I’m still worried that UD will make the cut-off date shortened on purpose to release another “extended series.” The young gun design is great, the base card design finally looks professional.

I do like the Young Guns design and the look of the base set. However, I do hope UD gets back on track with their overall release dates of all products.

WHAT??? How could there be a 2022-23 UD product when the current season is not even over. Or is this reverse Panini where they delay football and basketball products to release late in the year or after the season has expired.
