2021 Topps Heritage High Number Baseball Cards Checklist

Bought 2 hobby boxes of this stuff knowing there are long odds on decent cards but the price point is such that money spent can be about 50-75% recovered by selling off some key rookies and inserts. I did get lucky, though. First box contained quite possibly the worst auto available (Ali Sanchez) but the second one? A real one dual auto (odds are nearly 1:200 cases)!

Ughhh…the good thing about Heritage is that its relatively cheap. The bad thing is that its boring. Topps needs to cut their baseball products in at least half. Its gotten ridiculous.

Bought a hobby box because I do really like the design. Had very few dups, as others seem to have run into but only pulled one parallel.

Bought first Blaster Box. One Rookie Performer and one Now and Then-not sure what the concept is as they mentioned Lucas Giolioto throwing a no-no and the then is Luis Tiant lowering his ERA in 1972. Bit of a reach (and Tiant didn’t have a card in 1972). Got the Biggio 216 card-doesn’t appear to be a SP based on the eBay listings. Also, no Traded ala 1972? Disappointed on that.

Similar experience with 8 guys w 5 or more cards in one hobby box. Did get an auto so not totally horrible but…..

Lot of dups. Long odds on variations and autos. OK for price point. Got an early X-Mass present!!!! Out of my 2 boxes, I pulled a Clubhouse Collection 1/1 auto patch relic of Jose Abreu and Luis Robert. 1:328,599 odds!! It is out on Ebay.

I’ve been collecting Topps Heritage for many years and this is the worst high number set ever! Of the very few stars in it why is Kris Bryant as a Cub? He was traded in July – plenty of time to put him on a card with Giants uniform. Baez not in this set as a Met and next year he’s with the Tigers – will they have him as a Met or even still as a Cub?
In the 6+ hobby boxes I’ve opened so far there is too much duplication and disappointing hits – this may be the last Topps product I buy.

Wow….such a high number of common duplicates. Topps just seems to be begging us to quit collecting. And did someone forget to tell Topps that Atlanta Brave Cristian Pache spent the entire year in the farm system? While this young guy was heavily marketed this time last year, he did not pan out and was demoted and wasn’t even on the playoff roster this year. Come on Topps, get it together! And if a team can spend millions on a player, it would lead one to believe Topps could keep up and make whatever needed changes to keep the player’s team current. That is an old old excuse that there wasn’t time…really? This is your job…. how about doing your job. Gets old seeing a player from two teams back.. come on!

This is a production error….some call it “roller damage”. About a third of my regular series case from back earlier in the year had this issue. Topps will replace the damaged cards…..go to their website for more info. There is a form you will need to download and fill out and provide other info like the codes on your boxes….then you will need to send back the damaged cards. Topps sent me enough packs to cover the number of damaged cards and some nice bonuses…..it is a pain, but in the end, I felt Topps did me right.

I’m saying below average as at least a third of the cards have this visible ridge in the middle of the card. You can see it and feel it. I don’t expect gem mint cards but the box was in excellent shape- this came direct from the factory. Very poor quality control.

I collect a few sets every year. I never buy cases, typically 2-3 hobby or jumbo boxes. This has been by far the worst of the worst.

Luckily, as I opened the last pack, the very last card was the Kelenic RC card… who I wanted to collect. It would have been a disaster if there was no Kelenic or if it had the ridge.

Just opened a Hobby Box & was very disappointed. I received the following collations:

I can see a duplicate or two but there’s 100 cards that are duplicated multiple times. Whoever was in charge of Quality Control at Topps failed big time.What a waste of money!

Surprising no TRADED cards. The was so 1972 Topps

Blasters showed up today at local WalMart & I bought 3. Tell you what, man.. the odds are long on the inserts and parallels. Maybe they’ve always been this long for Heritage High retail, but I’m not sure secondary market prices for inserts and parallels should come cheap. Unlike other recent retail rips – like say Mosaic – where you get more parallels/color than the actual set.. blasters are basically just for base and then say.. two inserts and 2 or 3 SPs. If you pick up a blaster.. read the odds on the side… even the basic insert sets fall at one in every three or four blasters! (Like 1:30 odds is typical). If may have always been like that, but it doesn’t SEEM that way to me.. oh, and I pulled the Biggio #216 that wasn’t in the regular set. Haha. Overall, I am really curious how inserts/parallels sell second hand.. I’ll bet prices are higher than what people expect. If not, there is little to no value in retail blasters.

What’s going on. These cards are on e-bay 11/29/2021 with blaster boxes for sale NOW. There is no checklist on cardboard connection but there are number listed cards plus pictures on e-bay. The information says release date 12/10/2021.
What kind of crap is good ole Topps pulling now.
This is a joke. Just how are these people getting these cards ??? The collectors world wonders !!

Kris Bryant appears as a Giant in Archives and Stadium Club Chrome, but is still a Cub in this set. That’s just lazy! Of course, they’ll probably have him with the Giants in next year’s sets instead of whatever team he is with by then.

Starting to see these pop up in retail. Can’t wait to rip a few boxes. Would love to see a checklist soon!

A week or so ago, this set was scheduled to be released on Nov. 24. A couple of days ago, it was moved back to Dec. 3, and now it’s Dec. 10.

I don’t know what Topps’ problem is recently. I know Covid is affecting things, but it’s getting ridiculous. The cards should be released during the season, or at least during the playoffs, not more than a month from the end of the World Series.

What is the holdup with this release and the checklist?
Was supposed to be out earlier – it’s a little harder to get into baseball after the season is long over . . .

Which Oakland A’s players will be in the 1972 World Champions autograph subset besides the usual cards of Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers and Vida Blue? Sal Bando? Joe Rudi? Ken Holtzman? We’ll see…
