2021 Topps Chrome Baseball Cards

Does Topps employ someone who just sits on the production line bending corners on cards? I rarely open any of their products anymore that don’t have bent corners or edge problems. After collecting since 1980, I’m done with Topps! I can’t wait till they’re gone and not even an option/temptation anymore.

130+ base autos? And in a regular box and lite box, 2 #ed non autos. Price at/below $200 for regular box does help. But man – 130+ base autos?

Normally a great product at a good price point. Sadly the print run is massive and flippers are manipulating a market for a week rookie crop.

I was happy to snag 3 of these on the topps website for retail price. PSA 10 rate is very low in this product. Less than 10%. They have added more refractors which is nice. You can’t get your moneys worth though at 30 plus tax plus shipping. I remember when you could get 10 blasters free shipping no tax for 200 bucks.

How do you tell Base cards from Refractors this year? I just opened a hobby box, and every 3 card (at least) is something and the Shine is different for the refractors best I can tell, but Topps removed the Refractor tag on the cards and the Card #s are even the same so you can’t tell that way either. Also difficult to read a players name (I know many by looking at it but others the itallics is tough to read front and back. Two autos are tough – Daulton Jeffries and Daniel Johnson.

Same horrible design , just in Chrome .Topps needs to hire someone else in the design department . Maybe about 50 more color parellel refractor cards would help too . At least 5 more inserts would be great also . Make sure that they are all auto’s too . This would make them all even more worthless . Just being cynical . My prediction is that the Topps Company is going to collapse under its own greedy weight , which will be good . There is a line of variety in any product that you should not cross or your product will be so overdone that it will not be any longer interesting or needed . Someone new needs to take over the baseball card industry . Topps has abused and driven the hobby into the ground .R.I.P. Topps Company , you’re time is done . .Jim

Topps threw in the towel this year with this product. Broke down and purchased 1 extremely overpriced jumbo box and pulled 3 Jorge Guzman base auto’s from 1 box. Talk about correlation issues, give me a break !
( Nothing against Guzman) I would have felt better if I would have handed the money over to a homeless shelter. I’m done with Topps and that is a shame as I have collected for 50 years.

This years topps design was pretty bad all around. I love TOPPS and hate to see it go after 2025, but 70th anniversary and very poor design. Increased prices, I feel for those who cannot buy/collect. Baseball cards was supposed to be Fun, not a full on Money making Scam, which its turned into the last few years. Thankfully most of these fools who are overbuying are losing money and not making it back. Let make collecting fun and inexpensive again!

The autos are always tough but this year the auto checklist is atrocious. Add to that, the fact that the flagship design wasn’t great, and you get a very subpar year for Topps Chrome. Sucks cause we’re only getting a few more years before Fanatics takes over. I think we’re looking at 5 more years of overproduced garbage smh

A let down from previous Chrome sets. Names hard to read and quality control is poor. All my prism refractors had refractor lines across them. Did pull a Jazz Chisholm Aqua Auto and an Arenado SP out of my box but saw many boxes ripped with few position player autos, mostly pitchers.

Should have gave it one star. 2 Jumbo boxes, 8 auto’s, pitchers. Very disappointed! Have 10 Blaster’s coming. Might just sell. Won’t buy next year.

Busted seven packs and then one jumbo pack. Can’t read the names on the players. I actually hit two autos of two nobody pitchers. Will NOT be buying any more of this product Two stars but it would be one just as easy.

Its pointless to complain about the design, we already what it looked like since last season. However there is some lazy aspects to this release, players that signed with new teams over the off season still show up with their old teams? Also Bo Bichette is not in the base checklist, I found that odd, there are no Xfractors this season either?

Beautiful cards! Look great in Chrome especially compared to the flagship set. Bought an HTA Jumbo box. Only complaint is I got 4 pitcher autographs! I will buy more.

Traded players are still in last season’s uniforms, Ozuna and Bauer are still included, and quality control is still pretty bad.

No Jonathan India. No Wander Franco. No Tatis Autos to chase. This is a really weak checklist at the 350 price for a standard hobby box. Man I’m not feeling good about this one.

Chrome would be better product, if Topps did full roster only & in 2 series, cutting down the number of insert cards & sub sets in each series.

Was worried I wasn’t going to like the product, but once it was in hand it is beautiful. I’m about 6 retail blasters in and The Refractors are great!!

Reading some of the other reviews there are a few things I agree with as retail blasters are at $30 now, and they should have been able to adjust some of the players to their new teams, but that is what the update series is for I guess as well. Even with that I still feel this is the strongest baseball product for the common people looking for todays MLB players.

Why is Lindor’s card still with the Indians? I can see the occasional insert still having him with his old team, but this shouldn’t be occurring in main sets anymore. By far, my biggest gripe with Topps is their player selections and set compositions. I can always find blatantly bad decisions they make in this regard, and it baffles me that they don’t have someone more in tune with this stuff.

Yup, this time they really got greedy. Will not be ripping any of this. Massively overpriced, astronomically overprinted, weak rookie class. I feel bad for folks who preordered this garbage…

The design is horrible this year. The prices will probably be sky high as well. Let’s see how 2022 plays out.

Design totally sucks you cant read their names!

Beware everyone, I am hearing Topps raised the price if this 50% more then last year, same as a bunch of their other products. While they aren’t doing the stupid Dutch auctions like Panini, these prices will be a lot higher.
