2021 Bowman Baseball Cards

Can not believe all the crying about this set. I’m 49 and been collecting since 7 or 8 and this set( to me) is one of the best I’ve Ever SEEN. I’m not talking about player selection or price point, I’m talking about the overall appeal of the cards. I’ve got quite the collection of Blaze Jordan including a Orange 40 Man futures auto #8/25. The reason I bring this up is on the back of the orange it says he plays outfield. I’ve seen other cards and not one says outfield it’s all first base or third base. Would this mean the card is an error? The base and all the other parallels say third base. But all of the orange all 25 say outfield? Any help?

Good product that is readily available and provides plenty of parallels. 1st Bowmans hold value well.

If you haven’t figured out that the Topps Company are probably the best Masters of Manipulation as far as putting out a product with the buyer having the hopes of hitting that certain card that will be worth a ton of money then you are either partially or fully delusional . You may get a ” hit ” now and then but how many times will you buy boxes and get nothing but a box full of pre – flawed , off – centered junkers . This set is a perfect example of manipulation , the BCP cards aren’t supposed to be the 1st Bowman Card , the BDC cards are supposed to carry the Bowman 1st card logo .Just another way to manipulate the general public into buying these cards to get the Bowman 1st card . It’s far easier to just cherry pick on EBay to get the cards you are looking for . It does take a long time but it’s better than having a metric ton of cards that you might as well use for kindling when you go camping . Smarten up people . You may not get that rush of ripping open packs but at least your wallet won’t be emptied by the Topps Company because of your obsessive compulsive behavior . Never buy pre – owned cards on EBay , don’t want to feed the flippers . Jim

Are the Positional Promise inserts only available from hobby/jumbo boxes? I’ve opened an extensive amount of retail product (enough to where I’m only a few cards shy of the master set, except for the inserts in question) but zero Positional Promise inserts. I’ve also received my product from multiple locations around the country, so I don’t think it’s a regional error. Am I just that unlucky to not pull any or does it look like a retail oversight on Topps’ behalf?

nice sleek design, gorgeous chrome and paper Parallels, 3 stars given for the low number of 1st Bowman Cards released. 3 stars given to the hobby box for offering just 1 autograph per box considering the costs of hobby boxes thus season. 4 stars earned on the high volume of good looking Rookie Cards Inserts.

BCP149 is a Paper card not a Chrome card. Anyone else got this issue?

Opening any type of cards is a gamble on the amount of value you’ll actually get in return. We open cards because we like to think we could get some good value from them. At the price point these are selling for the gamble becomes an even bigger risk. You will likely just get some base chrome autos of pitching prospects which we all know are not as desired for collectors. I spent over $600 for 2 regular hobby boxes for a personal rip and came into it with low expectations. Luckily I hit a Blaze Jordan Purple Auto /250 which helped me profit just a little from the break. There were also some new colored parallels introduced in this years set. Fuchsia Pink, Neon Green, and Mini Diamond Parallels are relatively new to Bowman and I was able to hit some of those as well. The design and look of the cards are super clean and I especially like the Futurist Inserts which have a retro-future look to them. But I digress – Open at your own risk because you could seriously walk away with nothing in terms of value.

Extremely disappointing, especially with prices continuing to rise. Opened two hobby boxes and one jumbo box and not close to completing a set. Packs within the jumbo had identical base cards in the same sequence within the same box. Overloaded with “RC” for major league players and 1st Bowman cards seem much harder to pull. Between the three boxes I received dupes of almost every insert card and not close to completing any of those. Parallel pulls seem to be much more difficult, particularly for the jumbo box. Autos were very disappointing as well. The hot cards in the set also seem to be scarcer or perhaps the inclusion of the RCs is taking up more space. Maybe they are moving to push the Draft product more but I expected a lot more out of this and came away extremely disappointed considering what I paid retail for these. As one poster said early on, if you are looking to build a set, just wait to buy singles from the “breakers” who don’t want 99% of the cards in the box. Bowman put out a dud with this one.

Bowman once again puts out a nice looking product. Price box over twice as much, should be around $100 per box for a bunch of rookies, most won’t see the major leagues. Back of the cards are the same old stuff they been doing for the last decade, time to go back to team by team break down. I’ve seen the videos of the packs opening, not many hits if your into that stuff.

Always liked Bowman. Got 2 boxes and pulled Jake Vogel and Joey Bart Yellow refractor autos. Many other good pulls. Price a bit high but my pulls overall paid for the boxes.

Found a slew of fat packs at Walmart, wsa shocked they’re now over ten bucks a throw. This coming from a guy that doesn’t pay a dime over retail for retail.

I’ve hit some nice autos already and don’t mind the pricing for what most Bowman is going for right now.

Watched 40 jumbo box breaks, not one came within 50% of getting your money back. One Sabato Auto, no Martin’s, but both chrome base always are in the same pack.

Tiring of the breaker with his “boom” on $10-$20 cards. Don’t wake up people, you might realize you were buying into a nightmare.

I really like this set to be honest. It’s nice that the hits I was going for in 2020 Bowman Draft are also in this. They aren’t 1st Bowman autos, but that’s fine. Down the line they’ll be worth something when the players get more playing time.

hard to expect much when they keep watering things down with the previous year draft edition. holding back on the Martin’s and Jordan’s of the world doesn’t justify busting to the educated collector but face it, there are a lot of dummies out there these days, so have at it boys

This era is great for set collectors like me. With the exception of the rare hit, cards are dumped on the secondary for pennies on the dollar.

Though, frankly, this set is garbage. I’ll be looking for better sets later in the season.

Not a big fan of the price, but I always love ripping bowman and this year won’t be any different. Little light on the 1st bowmans though.

Is there quick way to know which of the paper/chrome prospect cards at 1st Bowman’s? Or do you have to search every name in those checklists to see if they’ve previously had a bowman card?

An automatic “no-break” for me at this point. Especially as a set collector. Set collectors have no business busting a single pack of this at this price point. An automatic wait on those that gamble & lose on the rainbow and autos to dump their high-volume lots to the secondary market. Strangely, this COVID era / flippers era is actually very kind to set collectors in terms of value. We don’t get in on the “pack-bust”, but its actually easy picking if you are REALLY, REALLY patient. This ones an easy one to file in the “finish the set later” folder and stay away from the cost/drama.

Gotta love the price…I have been collecting for roughly 40 years and in my humble opinion what we are seeing since last March (since COVID reared it’s ugly head), will be worse for the long term health of the hobby than the junk wax era. Greed is a mother f@#$%&..

So this set is supposed to release soon and no checklist? So they don’t know who’s in the product yet or just stalling for what? I don’t understand why they can’t release checklists anymore yet all companies sell out on pre orders

Just got word that this release got moved to April 28th. Is that true?
