2021-22 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey Cards Checklist

I just pulled a Bobby Orr Day With The Cup Flashbacks # DCF-13 from a retail tin.

It is not on your list yet as they run announced. If you like I can send you photos.

Every 2021-22 Series 2 yg on COMC is a ‘purple parallel’. Is there an easter egg in this series? Am I late to the party?

uggh…what a downer. i can’t complain about the qc – my hobby box was shipped overseas and every card was perfect. however:

6 yg – all duds (Gregory Hofmann-r u kidding, Jonah Gadjovich, Thomas Novak, Matthew Phillips, Justin Richards, and Dysin Mayo)…gross

0 french var of any card (not a big deal but isn’t is supposed to be 1 in a box? – went through pile 3x…nada)

1 yg ‘exclusive’ -woohoo! but it was 30 yr old swiss playin Gregory Hofmann (again)

3 canvas-zero rookies -don’t really care but shouldn’t i get 1 more?

strongest yg set since i began collecting. quality issues remedied. Price is still too high

I bought 6 hobby boxes and the quality was much better then series1!!! I got most of the big name young guns; Seider, Raymond, Byfield, Perfetti, Sillinger and more! I only got a couple young gun doubles. I also got a rookie materials Lucas Raymond, 3 Fluorescent cards including Perfetti and Sillinger and a Tavares Passages. Lots of good rookies in series 2. I would recommend this product!

Heads up. Bought 4 Blasters at Walmart. UD did not secure Jumbo Young Guns. All were corner damaged from sliding around in box. At least put these back in Tins like they used too. Waste.

Series 2 is just an awesome release. I got a case against my better judgement given series 1. But I am happy I did. Got complete YGs set and some big canvas hits. Also, inserts are much improved. And UD is much improved with quality, no issues at all, and cards seem much improved over S1. Now keep it up UD!

Got two more Hobby boxes. All were cut horribly like Series One. Young Guns were horrible.

The one thing you could on with upper deck was getting a full set of Young Guns (50) from a sealed case with 72 Young Guns Well no more after opening my sealed case last week I ended up missing 13 Young Guns for the set with some I got 5 cards and no they were not the stars no Raymond no Byfield no McTavish EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

Just a head’s up for autographs – a Jacob Markstrom was pulled from our store.

Quality is much better in series 2 vs Series 1.
Had a hard time finding a card in series 1 that didn’t have some kind of defect. Especially the base & Young Guns, they were almost 100% with damage/chipping of some kind.
Just finished a case of series 2 and what a difference, Young guns have perfect sharp corners. Even the base are near perfect.
It’s also important to note, series 1 was printed in the USA. Series 2 was printed in Italy

I’ll back Sean up from above 100% – opened two boxes all base had damage and inserts were better. BUT 11/12 Young Guns had chips on the front right on same place. So do they have round corners? No. Are they better than Series 1 – yep. Are they what they could and should be. NOPE. Looks like they just sharpened cutters but base still has damage. Young Guns still chipped. Meh.

I’m going to give it 4 stars, since the QA/QC seems to be much above the series 1 product from the 3 boxes I’ve opened so far… but I’ve got to ask — why were the honor roll cards excluded from the box-break average? I’m seeing two honor roll cards per box, and I’m not seeing as many OPC update cards.

I know I’m very critical about the UD Hockey product as of late. I have not opened any Series 2 yet but I do have 2 cases coming tomorrow. So far what I have seen in-person is, damaged base, and inserts seem to survive the condition test.

My question is and I hope someone knows the answer: How can I see a PSA graded card UD2 card on eBay already if the National release date (and I say that loosely) was yesterday? I know wholesaler’s and large online/brick and mortar stores have them the day before, but even so, I’m stumped.

Just pulled a base set snow spray auto var: #392 Alexander Barabanov (SJ).

People are not upset about the checklist. No one is doubting the strength of YG list. People are justifiably upset with Upper Deck as the cost of their product increases yet their quality control is sinking like a stone in the ocean. Pack fresh should not have rounded corners and Upper Deck has delivered defective product 2 years running while increasing prices.

This product is getting a lot of misguided hate. This is an extremely strong Series 2 for Young Guns, and I think that down the line, a lot of people are going to be kicking themselves for not hoarding this product. Absolutely loaded checklist. Sillinger, Lundell, Seider, Raymond, Byfield, Newhook, Lapierre, Podkolzin, Eklund, Chinakhov, Neighbours, Perfetti, Tomasino, Mercer, McTavish…. this checklist is CRAZY good and blows Series 1 out of the water.

No Matt Boldy for the Wild as a Young Gun. Absolutely BS.

Really disappointing, especially for O-Pee-Chee. Only 10 update cards for the base set? No Seattle Kraken? It already seemed like Upper Deck was putting minimal effort into O-Pee-Chee. This is another step down. I wish UD didn’t have an exclusive license.

Wow. Not many cards to be excited about here. Seider might win the Calder, yet he doesn’t get a canvas young guns?

I just pray the quality control is better than S1.

How a company can stay in business with a series 2 set coming out during the Stanley Cup Finals and with zero players in their new jerseys is beyond comprehension. Shameful.

Any idea when the Young Guns checklist will be published? Are they still planning an Extended Series that will water down the list even further?

It’s hilarious to see that major online sports card retailers (some have brick n mortar stores) have been offering pre-sell of the 22/23 product. As one of those businesses I would be embarrassed to advertise it.

Maybe instead, these businesses with the large online presence and that have some influence with the manufacturer (UD) need to hold UD’s feet to the fire on must hit release dates and quality.

Does anyone know who holds UD accountable. Sellers don’t seem to care, they don’t want their allocation lowered and they don’t offer a return on your deposit when they can’t deliver on promised date. Everyone knows UD’s quality is the worst in the biz. I wonder if the large online sellers have addressed that with them, “oh” wait they have, and NO UD doesn’t care!!

PLEASE UD…. don’t consider yourself an industry leader anymore….you have become the industry JOKE!!!

Upper Deck is so popular, they are raising next years series 1 2022-23 pre-orders by almost $200.00 a case. My supplier or Upper Deck are making a killing on mostly damaged cards.

Now showing July 6th release on a major Canadian site. Would anticipate other sites will update soon. Not surprised on delay as Upper Deck has failed to release a series on time in the last few years. I would hazard to guess that there may be a further delay once we get a couple weeks out from July 6th. I would not recommend purchasing pre-sells on any Upper Deck products as their delays are brutal and you will wait months and months for it to be released. Save you money till it actually comes out.

Series 1 was a big disappointment, but I gave three stars hoping the Series 2 Young Guns include
Seider and Lucas Raymond. I bought five cases so hopefully I get a few Young Guns exclusives.

Yes I agree with the above guy, Series 1 for 21-22 was a great disappointment with the cuts and centering, corners soft. And it will remain like that for at least the next 10 years since they got the exclusive rights to produce NHL cards. Upper Deck puts out way too many products to keep up. Some of the less desirable products should go, saturating the market with autographs from every where destroying the secondary markets.

The Series 1 was an epic disappointment and now they are marketing this with Ovechkin? Upper deck ruins a franchise faster than the habs since last years draft.

QA/QC at Upper Deck has dramatically declined since 2019, and all have products have suffered. This product, containing the chase young guns, often has rounded, bent, or otherwise damaged corners, frequent miscues and is overall a disappointing product. Until Upper Deck gets competition, this will continue to be a problem.

I just saw on a large online hobby store it is now June 1st release. Never pre-order a UD product.

any update on opc platinum or upper deck series 2 roughly ????
