Although the COVID-19 pandemic upended the card show season, the 2020 Upper Deck Spring Promo Pack Hockey cards are still in play.
The packs are issued annually at the Spring Sport Card & Memorabilia Expo, but this year did not go as planned as the 2020 Spring Expo in Toronto was canceled. The promo packs, on the other hand, can still be tracked down.
2020 Upper Deck Spring Promo Pack Hockey Set Details
Instead of a show set, 2020 Upper Deck Spring Promo Pack Hockey became a Hobby store set for UD's Authorized Distributor Network in Canada via Grosnor Distribution and Universal Distribution.
Despite this big shift for the product, the set itself is generally the same as always. One main difference is that the packs normally contain limited Midnight parallels of another Upper Deck Hockey release. This time, it appears that the new Victory Stars line acts as the base set. With one card for each NHL team, the 32-card series adds a short print for Connon McDavid (#32) in addition to his main card (#12).
Packs also feature inserts from the Victory Black Rookies update, which continues from 2020 National Hockey Card Day.
Collectors can uncover limited autographs, as well, thanks to Parkhurst Priority Signings. These are all numbered to 50 or less.
Limited to either five copies or three copies, the Parkhurst Priority Signings Exclusives cards are provided to authorized group breakers in Canada and the United States.
