2020 Topps Opening Day Baseball Cards

Hey Trey, are the blue foils supposed to be serial numbered? I have a couple blue foils and every where that I see they say numbered to 2020 but I don’t see a serial number on them. Thanks.

Hey Trey , are the parellel red , purple and the blue foil cards all supposedly only 2020 produced or is it just the blue foil card that supposedly only 2020 produced ? I don’t really understand the way that it is written up under the parellel cards for this set of cards . Not a big deal but I would like to know . Thanks , Jim

How could Luis Robert possibly have “RC” without even having played in an official MLB game? And what if he doesn’t get to play at all this season because of the pandemic? Would that mean this “RC” should technically be considered an “XRC” instead?

I have always liked opening day sets nice easy way to get a look at the entire base brand cards.

Also aimed at kids whose parents may not be willing to pay more than a buck a pack.

That said, a unique early-season release for that market (a la Big League) would be preferable to a flagship parallel.

Is ir just me, or should a set aimed at kids not have a half-case hit SSP in the base set?

Part of the reason this is one of the sets I collect from packs (set collector here) is the ease of collecting.

Thin, Plain, and Lame Format, with a cheap 70’s style font yellow mellow rollie orange julius style lettering for the limited parallel cards. *…One of the most wasteful series card sets since the introduction of the 91′ Fleer Baseball “Banana Cards.” So disappointed. Almost glad 2020 didn’t come this year so I don’t have to stare at these crap cards. These cards are destined to be those cards you just set aside as you continue looking for the “high value cards in your collection.” – So sorry, but I’d steer clear of these. Waste of time and effort IMO.

Are there maybe purple parallels? Saw some on eBay wondering if they are just blue foils.

Just an observation but it seems that Topps screwed up Matt Olson’s “Walk this Way” insert card by using just another batting photo instead of the actual walk off photo that is depicted on his “regular” card that is found in Series 1, Opening Day and the Factory team set. Topps maybe should have used the photo on the walk off insert on the base Opening Day card instead and used the actual walk off photo as the “Walk this Way” insert.

Opened three boxes. Pulled a TB mascot auto, which was actually pretty cool considering its a 1 in 2,004 hit. Got a solid amount of refractors and inserts, including a strange ‘Walk This Way’ hit. Fun and cheap.

No longer get a full set in a hobby box, and the inserts are not at all fun. Every other pack has an opening day picture of a stadium… boring. The interesting inserts are way to hard a pull to generate any interest. Packs also randomly have filler cards that are just advertisement for national baseball card day (about 1 in every 12 packs). This set is terrible, not at all what it used to be 4 or 5 years ago.

You hit the nail on the head pgh247 . All this specific brand is , the hunt for the elusive Luis Robert MLB RC logo card . What a fine way to treat baseball card collectors . The Topps Company is the biggest manipulative money grubbing buzzard in the World . All Topps head executives should be jailed immediately and held indefinitely without the right to an attorney . No money from me .

This is one release that seems really superfluous. Its basically a lower end regular release Topps base set which is a contradiction because the regular Topps base set is cheap enough in its own right. With Bunt do you really need another bottom of the barrel baseball card set aimed at kids? What I have been noticing the past few years is the inclusion of a certain player that they are leaving out of Topps series 1. This year is Luis Robert a few seasons ago it was Shohei Ohtani. My guess its to keep the professional pack busters interested and buying.

Another topps product that should be gone, who needs opening day when they can put these cards into there base product. Too many products by topps makes it a money pit.

Topps always leave’s certain teams out every year. No Phillie Phanatic or Lou Seal (SF) this year and a few others I can’t remember. It usually depends on how well the team has been doing lately and if they are a small market team, forget it.

Hey topps there are 30 teams and 27 have mascots.

There is no reason why you need to only use 22 teams.

The reds and mets each get two cards.

Last year the 14.99 Target Megas were awesome. Do you know if they will be doing that again this year?

Wow, finally quite a haul for A’s fans, 9 base cards and 7 insert/variation cards, including the A’s mascot, Stomper the Elephant. Tigers not so much though, only 3 cards in the base set and the Tigers mascot Paws.

Probably won’t be released on March 11th, eh?

Major League Mementos displays stadium memorabilia.

They already have this in pro debut. They do not need a second one.

The Ballpark Profile Autograph line is new and offers MLB broadcasters and personalities.

Just why??????? This one sounds stupid. Of course this is just another reason to exclude my favorite team.

Get ready to be over saturated with cards for the yankess dodgers red sox.
