2020 Topps Chrome Ben Baller Baseball brings collectors a limited collaboration with the musician, actor, jeweler and trading card artist. In case you didn't already know, Ben Baller Did the Cards (BBDTC).

Some card fans might recognize Baller from his blinged-out work on the Project 2020 set. He's also very active on Twitter.

Like most of Topps' online exclusives, there is a limited pre-sale for 582 Montgomery Club members. In terms of the main release, 2020 Topps Chrome Ben Baller Edition Baseball is issued via raffle, which is similar to Finest Flashbacks.

Baller also created the 2020 Topps x Ben Baller Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Champions sets.

2020 Topps Chrome Ben Baller Baseball Set Details

The early information for 2020 Topps Chrome Ben Baller Baseball came straight from Ben Baller himself.

He later revealed some of the card images and set details for the exclusive release that falls under the Topps Chrome Baseball banner.

Each card showcases his trademark diamond-filled style, including one that gives flagship some extra pop.

I really appreciate your reply to my question of what your opinion is concerning this set of cards . Your overall knowledge and opinion concerning card collecting is very well respected by me . When you mentioned the Sapphire Edition set of cards in your reply , it confirmed my belief that all this Ben Baller person did is pinch the Sapphire design and change the color from blue to clear in an attempt to make it look like a diamond . By adding the clown – like pearl necklace with the double B’s hanging off the Topps Chrome logo confirms he is a comedian .

I won the raffle and did not get skunked by the zero parallel possibility. 1/3 of my box was rookies…including Hoerner and Lewis 1985s and a diecut Lux and my big pull was a Tatis gold /50. The cards look beautiful! I’d have given it 5 stars but Topps does have quality control issues with centering and distribution of parallels.

Excellent product, very well designed and good rookie selection.

People really trying to knock this product but when you can score a low # set of a nice looking card with such potential in the RC class this is a score! Maybe not $600 a box but $450 is not the worst.

I am a club member and pre-ordered. Collector with my son, not reseller. Don’t waste your money on the club, I still haven’t received the box and the only response I have gotten is wait another week, it might have been oversold. Topps is ruining the hobby yet again.

Thanks for being honest with your opinion about this set overall . The resale price is really out of hand , for a box . Anyone paying members resale price needs psychiatric help . Thanks again for your opinion Trey .

The 4th version of same product… no way am I spending $650 when from what I hear you have a good chance of getting nothing of value from a box… many have no inserts or parallels in them. For $650 you could just buy the handful of individual cards you would want from this product. Sounds like it was poor execution by Topps.

I can not believe what the hobby of card collecting has evolved into . Ben Baller cards ? Are you serious ? As if the Topps Company isn’t laughing all the way to the bank already , now this bling crap with the Ball in term being used to Jack up the price even more . Ball in was a fresh term more than 10 years ago . It’s already growing mold it’s so old . I’ve got an idea for something new and fresh , how about Topps starting up a Billi Club ? That way they can get more buffoons to join and make them feel like they are a Billionare ? Talk about people having a pile of cards in the future that they spent enough money on to buy a house that won’t be worth crap . The only people that are going to make a wagon load of money on these cards are the people that are making and selling them . News flash ! You’re not going to be rich by having baseball cards with BB on them with pictures of diamond’s on them . Human beings are supposed to be getting smarter not dumber by falling for crap like this with huge price tags that they will never be worth in a million years .Smarten up people unless you’re that desperate to feel like you’re rich . I would love to hear what you think about these cards Trey ? Be honest please . Jim

Topps is pursuing new consumers. They are a business out to make money, so they are always going to try and make more. Overall, I think the cards are fine. The die-cuts are amusing in a ’90s sort of way. The chains don’t do much for me, but I think the diamond border nameplate is interesting. Though, I’d take Sapphire over this. My main issue is the price for what you get.

My box arrived and i was super happy. Cards look great but there is one huge problem, ZERO inserts, ZERO parallels, no auto (but the odds of that are slim). I feel ripped off since my best card is McKay. No trout, Robert, tatis, lux, bichette, or alvarez. I would settle for a Dustin May but i missed him too. Really disappointing and quite angered by this.

Another high end product, too many cards & sets for one sport by Topps.

Screwed by Topps again

Another mess up on Topps. A montgomery club member who continues to get shut out on these because the site doesn’t work properly when they open this up for member sale. I am always on right when it opens and always have error messages or it tells me to sign in. I try everything from signing out to re signing in. I try my phone. I try my PC. I try my Mac. Nothing works and I get shut out. At least with Finest I won the lottery(or did I? Only can get 2 boxes where member sale was for 3). I don’t win this lottery so I don’t get any boxes. I am 0 for how ever many early buys they have offered the last 2 years as a montgomery club member. What I am I am paying for?!?!?! Terrible way to treat long time supporters and people who pay to be member. Who cares if it is a good product when you don’t have an opportunity to purchase it at the release price-EVER!!!!????!!!!!!?????

I left a review the other day about how Topps bungloed the purchase email, but like Josh T I received a 2nd email (which I was glad I was checking it) and it did work. Of coutrse, I did have to call and leave a message for Topps as well as email them. I’m sure the product will be nice (once I get it)

It is Tuesday, September 8th and I can tell you that after getting an invitation to purchase from the initial raffle, and Topps having messed that up, that a second email was sent this afternoon. This second email contains a new link to purchase the box, but it has a time limit of 5 p.m. EST. I did follow this link and was able to purchase my box, so you may want to check your inbox for the same email, assuming that you were selected for a box to begin with.

The product looks good, but once again Topps bungles delivery/sale.

I entered the drawing which originally said that winners would be notified THURSDAY and would be given 48 hours to purchase.

The email from Topps comes WEDNESDAY afternoon (while I was away). I find it Friday morning early. I figure, no prob-it’s not 48 hours yet. I’m good.

Can’t buy it (its gone). REALLY TOPPS??? HASN’T BEEN 48 HOURS YET!! And of course, their customer service (if you can call it that with a straight face) is closed on Friday.

Samething as above? I couldn’t purchase either and waited on hold for an hour and a half with no response??? Topps Sucks

Kim

I was sent an email yesterday saying Congratulations you have been selected to order a box of Ben Baller Topps Chrome and it said I had 48 hours to purchase. I went into my account and nothing there to let me purchase the box. I sat on hold for an hour today to see what’s up and never got through. They never answered my email message either. I think I got screwed again by Topps. anybody else get the Raffle Invite?

Michael
Michael

Entered also, although expecting no chance of winning. Would be nice though. Looks to be popular, as resale of the club member boxes is currently $800-900!
