2020 Topps T206 Baseball Cards Checklist

Product Details

User Rating:

Not seen in a decade, the tobacco-inspired 2020 Topps T206 Baseball features past and present greats on the iconic T206 design.

Issued in multiple series, the rebooted card line is exclusive to Topps' online store. Every series is available for 28 days. That should equal to a new card wave every month from May to September. Packs sell for $14.99 each and if you order 20 packs, the bundle price is $274.99 instead of $299.80.

2020 Topps T206 Baseball Set Details

Using the classic 1909-11 T206 design with an added "Topps 206" logo, the 2020 Topps T206 Baseball checklist is spread across five series. Subjects include MLB stars and top Minor League Baseball prospects. Cards are printed on 18-point Heritage stock and feature 1.4375" x 2.625" sizing.

2020 Topps T206 Baseball Cards Checklist 1

Each sealed pack includes 10 cards. Just like the original T206 set, collectors can chase multiple card back ad variations as parallels that come in every pack.

2020 Topps T206 Baseball Cards Checklist 2

The ad parallels are essentially the same across the run, but each series has one unique parallel option that replaces one of the spots.

Topps also revealed "surprise" on-card autographs, but no further details were provided in terms of rarity.

2020 Topps T206 Baseball Cards Checklist 3

Need more explanation or samples of what a black plate omission looks like

Trey Treutel
Trey Treutel

The black ink is missing from the image. Sort of looks faded/washed out compared to a standard base card. It is subtle. Topps should have numbered them or marked them as such.

Thanks! Seems like it might end up being the entire S3 set.

Just went back looking at my series 3 cards since I didn’t realize there was a team name variation. Very happy I did, Wander Franco “Charlotte”. Can send an scan of it if you’d like

I am not sure if it is all types, but in the polar bear version there are two different backs (even for the same player) some have the Topps logo in the middle with two other icons and some have Topps on the left and another icon on the right.

First Time – Since a boy collecting cards Its been a fun experience so far i think the cards are a very nice quality. #s and runs are good for the long haul i am just trying to put together sets of the Yankees that tends to get expensive on the Secondary Market i bought a few packs there when i realized Topps was doing this Series but i did buy a few of Series 4 from Topps ill have to reply on what i received.

Concerned for Topps
Concerned for Topps

These cards are alright in appearance. The problem…
lets list them:
1. They are mini cards! Tough to handle, sort, and store.
2. They are not numbered. Really Topps? Do you put them in alphabetical order or what. Luckily we have a checklist here so I had to put in alpha order then go through based on checklist here in order to put in a set order.
3. Topps continues to have issues with website. Checklist no longer easy to get to so here is the best way. Most of time you click on Topps checklist it takes you to current checklist choices and usually the set you clicked link from is not there or there is an error. Typical Topps.
4. The Covid excuse for delayed order filling and shipping delays is ridiculous. If that is truly a problem then STOP producing so much and selling stuff you can’t get out on time or by deadlines! COMC is same way. You were behind before Covid so now these companies use it as an excuse.
5. No autos? pretty sure they announce that series 1 had no autos. Series 2 only had a handful-maybe 4. Series 3 is all minor league prospects in MiLB uniforms. I don’t believe there are autos in that one either.
6. Mini cards equal mini print. Topps is making it easier for me to not set build anymore. They shrink the print down these days so it is harder to put in # order(did i mention these do not even have #s?). The print is still small and hard to read anyway to do names.
7. Packaging-wow-a regular sized box for each pack? What a waste. Foil pack inside oversized box and then shrink wrapped. Seems like we put a lot of money in to packaging that gets costs up as well as bad for the environment. Lots of paper waste and wrapping waste.
Probably more over priced garbage from Topps. We keep buying this stuff so they keep producing it.

Trey Treutel
Trey Treutel

Leaving the card numbers off the cards was an odd decision even if the original T206 cards had no numbering. Series 1 and Series 2 both have rare autographs. It’s likely S3 does too, but we only include confirmed names in the list on this page.

RandyN
RandyN

I got a dozen boxes of series 1 and put together a set and had a couple Luxes and Trouts leftover that I was able to sell for about price of a box. This is not a breaker or flipper set, this was intended to be a collectors card and it is a nice card for collecting that is something a little different. I didn’t like series 2 checklist as well and only got a couple of boxes of it, so not going to try and build an all series set… for that it is too expensive.

Jason P
Jason P

I really like the retro look of these cards and affordability with a chance of getting some low print run cards.

I bought 2 sets of series 1 and 40 packs on the secondary market along with some autos. I plan to slab for my PC and hence the quantity. My only issue is the packaging as it allows too much movement and therefore a lot of cards have slight corner issues.

I look forward to learning more on the future releases.

Matt B
Matt B

Have had 6 boxes of my 14 come so far of series 1. I love the cards. No issues with opening them…not sure why that is an issue. Also, haven’t had a pack that the sum of the cards worth isn’t more that the pack either. Seems to me the complaints stem from not getting an auto or something to quickly flip for big cash. Oh well, if you like cards, you will like these.

Steve V
Steve V

Bought 60 boxes of this garbage. Not one Auto and best card was a Cycle of Vladimir Guerrero. If lucky I can sell that card and make back what I paid for one box. Glad I didn’t buy the 2nd wave where sales were cut in half.

I’m still waiting for mine. I was hoping they didn’t send SmartPost because it takes forever. Now that it’s July 3rd, I’m guessing delivery next week sometime?

Love T206 and mini cards, but this stuff is awful to open. Not worth the $15 per pack. Maybe $5-$10 would be better…

Dan Mackevicius

Any recent update on when these will ship out now that they’re on series 2? I know Topps’ website says COVID is causing shipping issues, but maybe, hopefully, they announced something.

Trey Treutel
Trey Treutel

This has been listed on the website since the start. It says “Ships 7-10 business days after clock expires.” The countdown clock for S1 ended on June 11 so that means it should ship by June 25.

Ryan
Ryan

Question: 75k print run – does that mean 75k sets printed or 75k packs ordered (thus significantly fewer copies per card)?

Thanks for answering, easy to answer the Q for Project 2020 when it’s only one card. Getting back into collecting so not sure of the phrasing and how to apply here. Thanks again!

Trey Treutel
Trey Treutel

Topps is not always very clear with their info. Based on how they normally provide the numbers, this should indicate the total sold in the format available. Therefore, the S1 production should be roughly 75,000 packs.

Tre
