2020 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Football Cards

I have bought 5 boxes so far. I have got 9 auto’s 1 box was missing 1 so scam box. I have got players that are not playing in nfl for auto’s. Did get Burrow card I say stay away.

Yep, pretty sure the “Game” parallel listed in the checklist is the same as what people are calling “Galactic”. I did buy seven retail blasters and, while I didn’t score a Game parallel, I did land a Touchdown /6 and a Bowl Ticket /99 auto, which was better than what I ended up with from the hobby box. Even better, no points! Although, I did get one duplicate UFA auto…

Anyone ever see a “Game” parallel that was probably included on the product info from Panini? I can only find the Game Day Tickets. I wonder if the the Galactic parallel is actually the Game parallel, or took the place of it on release…

Michael, I’ve just seen and heard pretty much what you all have talked about. I picked up one of the Herbert/Mariota Legacy Galactics for a steal, if they are rare… If it’s not, it was still a lot cheaper than people have them listed on Ebay. It feels kind of dirty for Panini to throw in a “Galactic” parallel and make them somewhat common since it’s a case hit in Revolution. I want to believe they are rare, but 4 pulls in 15 blaster boxes doesn’t make it feel as special.

Chris, opened about 15 blasters and got 4 of the galactic parallels. Opened 15 or so value packs. None in there. What else have you heard?

Thanks for the update. I am seeing more of these on eBay but still seem quite rare. Justin Jefferson just sold for $100, Tua/jalen $80. So they are popular as people realize how rare they are. Sold a Marino/Dorsett galactic for $35. I think I’m going to get my burrow graded. Could be a nice hit!

Are the Galactics really case hits? There seem to be Blaster exclusives from what I can tell, and most of the stories I’ve seen make it sound like they’re more common than 1/case. Anyone that’s opened lots of the blasters, curious on your success rate with these…

Opened a bunch of blasters. The autos all generally were average although I did pull 1 cracked ice. Pleasantly surprised by the Galactic parallel case hits which seem to be very rare. Couldn’t figure out what it was initially. The blue foil autos are also nice. But again if you’re going retail, the autos are cool and there’s a lot of value here for $20, but it seems that a big auto hit will be extremely unlikely.

Actually pulled a Burrow galactic and a Herbert galactic to save the day! May have those graded too.

Trey: Do you have any more information about the galactic parallel print run, etc? It seems be essentially an unnumbered SSP case hit but I wondered if you have any more info/thoughts on these or if Panini has released any more info about it, since this wasn’t part of the checklist. Would be helpful to understand the value of these better before I grade them. Thanks!

I’m now introduced into not numbered parallels or ssp such as the galactic etc that makes this product a hit within a hit , used to be pull autos & toss base , no base other then Richard Sherman 2012 rookie was ever worthy of keeping!! occasionally some of it shines making this a non number out of this world (galaxy galactic chase ) any ideas on print runs of these thx I’m coming across a lot of the school colors non auto not number galaxies.gave it a 4 because autos tend to be undesired lineman and enough of the blue foil green foil etc

Obviously, the Covid price inflation is coloring judgment (and rightly so). At $240+, there’s little chance of breaking even on a hobby box (unless you’re David above!). I got about $125 in value out of the box I opened, including one 1st rounder, two 2nd rounders and a HOF Cracked Ice Non-Auto. But, if you take the inflation out of the equation, it remains a fun product to plug the gap until the more serious sets hit in the Fall.

I have to give it 4 stars because I’ve had two great hits in two boxes. The first was a Burrow cracked ice Game Ticket I mentioned above (got $175 for it–non auto). Just opened my second box and hit the Tua Tagovailoa Optic hyper prizm on-card auto numbered /20!!! The product info says one per FOTL box, but I hit it in a regular box. Yeah, my opinion of the product has grown immensely. Still, the other five autos have a cumulative value of about $20 total…lol.

Bought a box on Panini direct for $315 and the 6 autos were 4 non drafted FA and 2 defensive players drafted in the 200’s. This product is so bad it should have negative stars

why all the rants about sticker autographs ? Unless they are clipped (run off the sticker) then they are fine with me

TERRIBLE…I bought 2 boxes straight from Panini, which COST MORE than you can buy from Dealers even on eBay. Round off to $315 AFTER They add The TAX per box DIRECT from Panini, and it IS NOT FOTL!! Don’t just Blame the eBay Sellers, it is ALWAYS a Buyers Market…if you don’t like eBayer’s Prices DO NOT BUY from eBay…Simple!! As for myself, I’m out $630, AND last I looked Panini DID NOT SELL OUT ON-LINE!! Still go buy DIRECT From Panini for MORE than eBay

Broke my 2 Boxes and got 12 Sticker Autos of “Nobodies”(Not ONE Auto of THEIR top 25…#’ed 101-125). ZERO Cards NUMBERED in any way…NOT ONE! The STILL POOR Production Cardboard they are printed on! The Corners are still Very Sensitive, or just Poor Production on Panini….that is what it really is. Inserts are Numerically Placed( example 1-6 in “Collegiate Connections”, “2020 Draft Class”, etc. in Each BOX!! So Many of these Players STILL Can’t Sign an auto and KEEP it on the Worthless Sticker without running it off the sides(Grade Wise, that makes it go down 1 Auto Grade for EACH part of the auto that goes off the Sticker thru BGS).

College Photos, and Stickers Autos of all these PLAYERS who are Free Agents and those who couldn’t even get a Free Agent Deal!!! WAIT until the REAL NFL Cards Come out and get the REAL Players Autos or Real Rookie Cards!! “Prizm” Puts this product to shame and that is not saying much!

Just wondering what your rants about what show up on ebay and schill bidding have anything to do with rating this particular product? There are lots of card collecting groups on social media where you can rant about things like that.

Prices are totally out of control. Watched two boxes broke and only one auto was from a player you would actually want. I bought one pack at $49.99 and said thats enough for me.
Sorry but no more of my money will be spent on this product so two stars on the rating

First of all—how are people allowed to rate a product well before it’s released. That needs to stop. Secondly—I saw lots of this getting broken—and I don’t see the value or the quality. More than double the price of previous years, loaded with sticker autos, and there is a shortage of the big name guys. Very few boxes come even close to returning any sort of value.

6 autos, but between the limited resale window of college products, the preponderance of sticker autos and the ABSOLUTELY STUPID sticker price of over $300, where is the value here? I keep on hearing people are coming into the hobby as an investment, but a $300 box of Contenders Draft is a bad investment. This is a must NOT buy. If you’re going to pay top dollar, buy a top product, not this.

i just opened a box…hit a Burrow 01/23 cracked ice Game Day Ticket…darn product just came out, so i have no idea what it’s worth…lol. overall, the cards seems to be typical Contenders…autos were nothing special. based on my one box experience, i would say a decent set, but nothing special.

I wonder if these are going to be as widespread as the Prizm ? The box prices are insane

Not sure I like Baker Mayfield on a Tech card or Jalen Hurts on a Crimson Tide card. It has always been their last card. Are they going to have a Troy Aikman on a Sooner card?
