2020 Onyx Vintage Premium Baseball features top prospects and MLB legends together in one release. Each Hobby box promises one autograph.
Similar to 2020 Onyx Vintage Baseball, the new product caters to the on-card autograph fans. However, total production is lower, with just 100 cases, and the cards are printed using a thicker stock. Issued later in the year, 2020 Onyx Vintage Extended Baseball offers another new set.
2020 Onyx Vintage Premium Baseball Set Details
Collectors got an early look at the brand with the short-printed Premium inserts in 2020 Onyx Vintage Baseball.
Although the checklists are similar, 2020 Onyx Vintage Premium Baseball adds a few of the top free agents for the 2020 international signing period, including Cristian Hernandez and Carlos Colmenarez.
This is in addition to key prospects, several 2020 MLB Rookie of the Year candidates, multiple current stars, and a few Hall of Fame players.
For the hard-signed autographs, the ink color dictates the rarity. Blue Ink is the most common with 90 copies or less, followed by Green Ink (20 copies or less), Red Ink (10 copies or less) and the one-of-one Black Ink.
Onyx also mentioned limited full-name autographs and nickname inscriptions.
UPDATE (May 19): Onyx Authenticated announced on Twitter that on-card Jasson Dominguez autograph cards are a late addition to the 2020 Onyx Vintage Premium Baseball checklist. The cards are inserted as redemptions.
