An unexpected set, 2020 Bowman Chrome Mega Box Baseball offers another option for prospect collectors.

While the Topps MLB release is already a familiar sight thanks to the annual Bowman Mega Box product, Bowman Chrome has not seen a Retail iteration since 2013.

These Retail-only boxes are available at Walmart and Meijer. Priced at $34.99, each box has two of the exclusive Chrome Mega Box packs plus five base Bowman Chrome packs. The boxes are also sold on the Walmart website.

As has been the case for the Bowman Mega Box format, 2020 Bowman Chrome Mega Box Baseball puts the Mojo finish on various subjects from 2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball. These are only in the exclusive Chrome Mega Box packs. The base Bowman Chrome packs contain only the base veteran and rookie cards.

Of course, collectors can hunt down several Mojo parallels in the exclusive packs, as well.

I loved it i really can’t complain! 3 Autos out of 5 boxes! The price point being higher, not happy about! Especially when u factor in there’s just Base Vets & Rookies! Although, I did pull 3 Roberts, R. Azoreaena, 3 Bichette, 2 Lux!!! And my 3 Autos? Awsome!!! 1-Lewin Diaz On-Card, Hunter Bishop, and drumroll…..Jasson Dominguez Base Image Variation Ssp Autograph Parallel /25!!! EPIC!!! BUT I AGREE! Needs to be Retail NOT ONLINE markup!!! You said 3 iteration…LMAO. isn’t it kinda the 6th? Bowman 1st Edition, Bowman, Bowman Mega, Bowman Chrome Sapphire, Bowman Chrome, THIS PRODUCT, Bowman Draft, then Bowman Draft Sapphire…I got back into the Hobby 4 years ago, but this is ridiculous. And i’m sure that I forgot something. Like Bowman Heritage or some other crap. This hobby was so much more alluring back in 2015.

This is a really watered down version of the hobby product, which is already sort of redundant when it is 3rd iteration of Bowman base product. Can’t really blame Topps when they see what products go for on secondary market, and this is how we got into the Junk Wax era in 90s. When the card companies do this it makes cards more affordable and available, but kills the secondary market…which really does need to be tamed right now. Breakers and flippers have been raking it in and keeping people from buying product at the price point it was intended to be. I opened one box, pulled an auto of so so prospect which is about as good as most breaks of hobby I have seen. It just does not have the top tier prospects who are fetching ridiculous dollars for guys who have yet to play minor league ball.

I love Bowman Chrome. This is a great idea by Topps to make some extra cash and water down this product. Flippers tried to get 125 a box but didn’t realize you could get a hobby box for a little more. A 35 dollar a box product and that is all.

I randomly ran into the distributor at Walmart this am loading up the shelf with 16 of these. Grabbed 4 cause I’d rather have the mossaic football. Ripped them and was meh. Blue green purple refractors. 2/3 base set of 100 and 1/4 mega set. Look nice as always but at this price and these odds would not spend more than retail for this gamble.
