2020-21 Upper Deck Artifacts Hockey Cards Checklist, Odds and Rookie Redemption Info

The frequency of mis-cut cards in this set is absolutely appalling. 2/3 of the redemptions that I received had to be returned for replacement. After a lengthy battle with Customer Support, they have finally agreed to replace them. While I am pleased to have the cards replaced, this is the worst product I have ever come across.

I love the look of the cards, but these other reviewers are right on.

Also, I really dont care some boxes dont have any hits and others lots. That is appealing to me for some reason, that I could get a box with a bunch of great hits.

Here is why the 2 star review….

Damage to nearly all of the base card corners, peeling or dents.

The best hit in the pack was an awesome card but corners are imperfect, slight peeling on one.

Call me a perfectionist, but I expect right out of the box the cards should be sharp! What is the point if they are already going to be graded low before I even do anything?

Not one single hit in the entire box! Not a rookie redemption, not a game jersey card, not an aurum, or an auto absolutely nothing but base and serial numbered inserts worth nothing! I immediately contacted Upper Deck customer servive and emailed photos of the serial number and all the cards in the box. To add fuel to the fire most of the cards had damaged corners. Absolute waste of money. I will repost once Upper Deck redolves the issue in about six months or longer.

1 star purchased 10 boxes before finding this site all boxes have damaged cards 1 box short 6 cards thats more than a pack only 1 of the 10 boxes has what is advertised, only 2 boxes has 32 cards no autos redemptions or memorabilia most base cards have corner damage or peeling on the backs in feeling severely ripped off by upper deck ,contacted them a week ago and still no response if I had the info provided here by cardboard connection I would have stayed clear of this product completely

after reading the other reviews, i realize where all the missing hits went–i bought one box this morning and it had 8 hits (counting 2 rookie redemptions). One rookie redemption is an NHL Emerald SP-1 (the other is just a Toronto base). The also box included 4 patch cards (2 are numbered, but the players are nothing special) and two autos (Weal base and Hischier dual patch auto /65). Obviously there’s a problem if some boxes have no hits and this box has 8. It’s the first box of Artifacts i’ve purchased, but i think i’ll stop here.

Garbage. Mine had no hits, loads of my friends had nothing in their boxes. Avoid please!!

Opened 3 boxes, NO HITS. Just parallel numbered cards. Feeling pretty ripped off.

I purchased two boxes and I can honestly say in all my years collecting that I have never felt more ripped off. The first box I received no hits and no rookie redemptions, just a #’d card in every pack.. The second Box there was 1 jersey and 7 numbered cards. With the supposed 3 hits advertised per box plus a rookie redemption and I pulled a single jersey card and 15 serial numbered cards out of two boxes. Be better Upper Deck, what a joke.

If I could have given a negative stars I would. Last year I bought over 80 hobby boxes of 2019-20 Artifacts but this year I am done at 11 boxes of 2020-21 Artifacts due to even further and continuous ongoing quality issues.

I would have stopped at 1 box had I known about the quality issues but all 11 were delivered to me yesterday. It wasn’t apparent until I turned over the cards to sort and there was not 1 base card that didn’t have an issue such as peeling corners on the back of the card or dents on the corners and the hits look almost as bad. It’s like Upper Deck needs to sharpen their cutters or replace it as its not producing crisp cuts.

I fully understand that the past year has been challenging from both Covid protocols and staffing/manufacturing issues related to the pandemic. What I cannot understand is all the quality issues now on multiple releases, from rounded or crumpled corners of Young Guns straight out of the packs, to miscuts on rookies, badly cut hits and base cards and so forth. And to make matters even worse we are having to pay higher premiums to get the boxes.

Shame on you Upper Deck, you were always better than this and now you are failing to even meet expectations.

Every first card was damaged…. The cardboard made it too tight it seemed like…. Great cards…but very unhappy with what I spent. ** Not one auto in mine

Hobby box came in today…was really disappointed that not a single card was even worth over 10 dollars and no autos …what a waste

My two boxes of Artifacrs every card was damaged too. Let me know if you EVEN get a hold of UD QA. Since December they have not responded to any emails. They were supposed to send me replacement cards in November. Notning. Not even automated…robbery has reached a new level.😡

What is with all the miscut rookie cards? My other question is people are selling New York Ranger rookie redemption cards as Lafreniere but his card is already part of the set that is available in the packs.

Holy moly, collation is 10x worse than what happened to SPA last year. Some boxes do not have any of the “3 Hits (Autograph, Relic or Aurum Bounty cards)”. Big time screw up that will cost UD.

Watched some breaks, return might be 10-20% if they sell right away. Collectors, let the new “investors/speculators” gobble this stuff up then vulture in after a couple of months.

Purchased a box. no rookie redemption which seems to be guaranteed but hit a Cale Makar autofacts auto. Seems like odds are 1: 7,299. Any idea on pricing?

Artifacts was my favourite product back in 2012-2015 when I was big into hockey card collecting. I’ve been getting back into the hobby the last few months, and counting down the days until I could buy the newest box of Artifacts. So you could imagine how dissappointed I was when I opened a box that had ZERO hits despite being promised 3 per box. An absolute waste of my hard earned $150. Upper Deck has made me fall out of love with this hobby all over again.

Bought 6 packs out of a hobby box for about 120$. Some numbered parralels and a rookie badly miscut. Box says 3 hits plus a redemption so I expected at least something…very disappointed 24 cards for 120$ and none are worth more then a buck. B*******

Purchased a box today and was ok with what I had but a little surprised that I did not get at least 1 other rookie card other then the guaranteed redemption rookie.

I notice on Ebay many people are selling Alexis Lafreniere rookie cards from Artifacts that are miscut. Has Upper Deck released any information on any issues? That must getting that card in miscut condition.

In the past I have bought multiple cases of Artifacts each year but like Peter said, with this price increase, that will not happen this year. Simply not worth the price. Might try a box or two but I refuse to over pay. Wait and just buy singles of any cards I actually want. Artifacts rookies don’t hold their value in the long run compared to other UD products.

$200CAD for a box of Artifacts is crazy. Taking a year off from the hobby or until prices come back to reasonable pricing again.

Anyone know who is inflating the prices, is it UD, distributors, or breakers? There has to be a greedy villain.

Also Alexis after 2 games, 0 – 0 – 0. I don’t see how his cards are going for McDavid prices without as much McDavid hype.
