2019 Topps Star Wars Skywalker Saga Trading Cards

I wish I could edit my above post because after opening a hobby box of this garbage, how did Topps ever expect people to pay nearly $100 for this junk?

I got ONE hit, in what was supposed to be TWO guaranteed hits and the autograph was of a voice performer (FROM SOLO!) and it’s not even on card. Not even a sketch card or a manufactured relic. I did get a printing plate 1/1, but that is not a hit, it’s a parallel. I didn’t even finish the 100 card base set, yet I have a ton of duplicates…especially from the prequel trilogy. There are lots of errors as well. The Path of the Jedi insert set is a joke, I got so many of them (no parallels) that I nearly have 2 complete 10 card sets. I’m not sure whether to open the remaining box or try to sell it on eBay. SOOOOO disappointed with Topps on this. I really hope that Disney lets the license with Topps expire and go with Upper Deck, but I am not expecting that to ever happen.

Picked up 2 hobby boxes for less than half price. I hope to get at least one decent auto, but the odds don’t look good considering that eBay is littered with cheap auto cards. Also, how can you NOT have a Mark Hamill autograph in a SKYWALKER saga set? That alone drops this to 2 stars. How is Erin Kellyman, from “Solo”, part of the Skywalker saga? So disappointing. I agree about the manufactured “relics”. They’re junk in baseball cards and they’re junk in here. Just stop calling it a “hit” Topps because it is NOT a hit.

Base autographbase *manufactured relic and 2 base parallel green. Auto is 8$ on ebay and no one is buying it parallels at 1 dollar also has no buyers. This set has no value and the cards are below average. Thin stock disappointing subject matter. I thought a medallion and 2 parallels in toops chrome was bad this is much worse! At least it was reduced by 60% and no full price. Truly disappointing 😕

I mean, the art and everything is great but the fact that it’s more of the same is the biggest problem. We need to find some way to get Topps to bring out cards that are reminiscent of the Star Wars Galaxy trading card series that had a bunch of cool artwork and no screenshots from the movies. I don’t mind the movie pictures but art is way more satisfying to look at than something I can just pause and admire. I’m definitely going to find a visual checklist before I spend any money to find random cards. The only good ones are the ones outside the Base Set anyways.

Just checked eBay and this is just more of the same. Same as in a million more Mon Montha autographs stuffed in this product. Once again, the autos that are actually care about are number to 10 or less. And as David Baker said, a fake patch is nothing. Enough of those Topps!

Hobby boxes where 1 of the 2 hits is basically guaranteed to be a manufactured relic. No thanks. I know the sketch card market is flooded, but I would take a sketch over a manufactured relic any day.
