2019 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball Cards

Anyone ever seen a green parallel with missing name plate? Sadly I don’t see that in any checklist out there? I have a green parallel marte with missing name plate and can’t find anyone or anything like it! Or am I blind lol

I was referring to the poster that noted a typo on the back of Benintendi base card but did not notice one myself

Where do you see the typo? Nothing sticks out to me.

Not too long ago I made an EBay purchase of an oversized Acuña 4th of July card serial numbered 5/10 for $12. Did I get a steal on this? I can’t find a checklist that includes these anywhere. I know the oversized cards aren’t as coveted but this particular one seems pretty rare.

Love the look of the cards and that the set is only 300 cards. Has most of the stars and several rookies. It seems like unnumbered autographs are a dime a dozen these days, but still cool to pull in a pack. Couple of issues that keep it from 5 stars. Opened two boxed of retail product 24 packs (6 per pack) 288 cards and I am about 120 cards short of a set! Also who can read the small card numbers for sorting. The coolest subset are the Jackie Robinson SSP. I will still collect this set.

Picked up two boxes at Walmart also found that the numbers are too small. Photos too dark Two inserts per box. Although I did receive a card with a face of a “Gypsy” where the “GQ” Logo is. Any idea what the gypsy logo is. Variation?

I opened this two weeks ago and now am not sure what I opened. Was it an acid trip or did it really happen? I remember something about beer pong, ultimate, and other “20-something” college campus hobby cards. If only there would have been spades, hearts, plasma donations, 2-fer nights, keggers, cram sessions, and taking laundry home at breaks for mommy to do. Oh well.
The major arcana cards reminded me of a wiccan I dated in the early 90’s. I work with someone who’s kids are big braves fans. But the Albies card made me think if I gave the kid the card, they might think I’m endorsing satanic witchcraft, so I found a base topps card instead.
I can’t decide if I love the set or hate it.
Fake gum stains are pathetic. It’s like a 45 y/o woman putting on teen clothing and pretending she’s young again. It’s not real. Nobody believes it. And it really only shows how desperate she is. Hear that, Topps?
And missing nameplates on purpose is like when a talk show host purposely stammers to feign exasperation. It’s not real, it’s fake. So it’s worthless and condescending. Stop making fake error cards. Lame.
I paid a lot for a hobby box and was not impressed with the pulls. That in the end means I will probably never buy gypsy queen again.
With topps now and ebay, might as well target purchases and save money.

First, in response to Kennedy J, check out the Tarot of the Diamond subset – TOTD11 for your Puig (in Reds uni). I got one of these in my box.

Overall, I like this set. Just got a hobby box and the box topper was very pedestrian. The hit of the box was obtained in the very last pack – a Logo Swap auto of Luis Urias /99. Beautiful auto, may even grade based on his other autos I have seen on eBay.

This is (like most) a feast of famine product but is a fun break, which is why I gave 4 stars overall.

Is there an odds difference between retail and hobby for the inserts, sps, etc.?

Another Topps product that is manipulated with the on card Autos with the rear saying congratulations you are the winner of but no statistics which make the card down the road virtually worthless. It’s up to the general public to stop buying this junk that they’re pumping out and they will get the message to go back to producing good cards with Autos that will have value in the future. This is just like the over production years of the late 80s and early 90s except for all these Auto are going to be the key factor of overproduction. Autos are a dime a dozen nowadays and when that happens these cards will be worthless. Scarcity is the key to something appreciating and it always will be. Jim

The Mega Boxes at Walmart are a complete rip off. Got three of them. No auto or relic in any of them. Packs were basically duplicates between boxes. All base cards. What a joke. I give it a 2 as the design isn’t bad but I cannot collate these. The numbers are too small.
Will wait for Chrome and Stadium Club this year.

That’s OK – there are too many current issues with too many variations of him already.
Maybe Topps couldn’t come to terms with the estate this year (even though there are multitutes of Teddy Ballgame in the series 1 150 set)- we’ll have to see what is in the A&G set.

No mention of the Wal Mart Mega Box Only Purple Parallels here, may need to update that. Great design except for the microscopic numbers on the back of the cards. Still one of my favorite products since its inception in 2011. This years checklist lacks though, and is slightly overpriced. 3/5 stars

Opened 2 hobby boxes – 384 cards. Got a complete 1-300 set so nice spread. Also a mystery auto redemption, a couple lesser autos, a few numbered, and some variations. A little high price-wise, but we think they are fun.

Not as good as last few years. The two autos per box is a nice thing but would prefer less veteran autos and more rookie autos. Also, the “RC” logo is transparent so really hard to know if you got a rookie or not. Overall for me below average for the price point per box this year.

Numbers are too hard to see, 5’s look like 6’s 1’s look like 7’s & 8’s look like 3’s. If you build sets don’t open this product. Should be priced at about $50 a box. Haven’t opened this product in several years. Will not open again

Anyone notice the Typo on the back of Andrew Benintendi Base Card?

Card 191 Corbin Burnes is a RC UER for missing the RC logo. The auto of him has the RC logo correctly on front. Doing a case..pulled Mystery B Auto indigo parralell after 3 boxes so far..!

Could Topps make the card numbers any smaller? I don’t think so; need a magnifying glass.

Overall, decent card design.

Buyer beware if your buying blaster boxes. Picked up 4 of them and all were doubles. A complete RIP off scam by topps. Just another way to get people to spend a fortune.

Once again- win the World Series ands Topps gives this set no real cards to pull for the Red Sox. What gives?

The Card Numbers are waaaay to small. I can barley read them with my glass and with a magnifying lens.

Well, since I pulled the 1/1 Ohtani superfractor, I guess I have to give it 5 stars. Although I had to get a new pair of underwear!!

Not enough big autos for me I actually like inception better this year. Ya it’s two autos per box but it should be for what we pay. Not super impressed.

‘Missing Nameplate’ is another stupid idea. Honoring errors and mess ups? Ridiculous. Collectors should shun these so they just go away. I know I will.

I Love Gypsy Queen normally but this years checklist looks severely lacking. No good ex players or really anyone worth picking up. The design is improved but there must be an expanded checklist that Topps isn’t sharing.

I love the look of these cards and it’s a good team set builder because it is attainable, not like Heritage which has way too many sub-sets and variations.

However, team player representation is lacking…..most of all Red Sox (I’m totally biased)!!! The 2018 World Champions! Not one Red Sox auto????

Overall checklist is solid, two on-card autographs per box is generous, GQ and Allen and Ginter are my favorite products. Baseball cards were first printed for tobacco companies, so I love the history behind the designs. The designs back then were a lot better than today’s designs.

One of my favorite Baseball products of the year. Love the insert sets and on-card autos in this product.

Love the product! Hopefully one of the two mystery auto redemptions is Acuna. Don’t understand why Topps wouldn’t go out of their way to make sure he had an auto in this product.

This is my favorite baseball release. I think it offers the best value. Guaranteed 2 autos per box is the key for me, but the variations and sps keep it fun. Also the chance to get something rare like an auto patch book or sock relic. Looking forward to the new box topper packs as well.

Browsing the base checklist I don’t see a Yasiel Puig card?

Definitely prefer the 2019 design over the 2018. Should be a great product to collect this year. I think the colors are stronger than in past years. Looking forward to the Jackie Robinson variations.

Yikes, two early releases this year with nearly no Diamondbacks hits. Would love to see Eduardo Escobar sign as a Dback this year in something.

Hey Trey I noticed there are 2 Dylan Bundy cards (#142 and #232) in the base set. You have any ideas as to why? Seems odd, some type of error maybe?

I will only collect the bases and socks depending on which players they have that I collect.

Though I thought the design of last years cards fell away from the original concept, once I got them in Hand, they were just masterpieces. These look just as fine also.
