What cards did you get? You have one of the few positive comments on here. I stopped buying this product after the McDavid rookie year.

Within your blurb at the top, you mention that the 19/20 Dual Signature Pucks are 1:2,336. However, you do not provide a checklist for the 19/20 Dual Signature Pucks within the body of the checklist. As far as I can tell, you only provide a list of the 16/17 Update Dual Signature Pucks near the bottom.

E.g., I know for a fact there is not only a 16/17 SP2-TK Tyler Toffoli/Anze Kopitar, but also a 19/20 SP2-TK Tyler Toffoli/Anze Kopitar.

Beautiful cards with excellent graphics. I miss the absence of MATT DUCHENE. otherwise really cool work

WARNING: I contacted UD about getting replacements for damaged hits from this and other recent products (big dings, mis-cuts, etc.) and was told I MUST provide, in addition to front/back photos, an itemized receipt AND the product code stamped inside the box. Of course I don’t keep all this; I expect a company selling a product valuated on its condition to stand behind its QC fails. I feel especially bad for those who participate in breaks and don’t have access to these docs. Saw a guy get a /5 Matthews auto with a nice ding. Good luck…

Bought two packs at $20 a pop and won’t buy again. Absolute terrible product. I paid $20 for a Makar unnumbered base rookie … $1 on ebay … And another $20 for a Teddy Blueger Red Foil Rookie Renditions, numbered 1/799. His mother wouldn’t even collect that card. C’mon Upper Deck. What do you take your customers for? Predicting this will be the worst product of the year. At $40, I should be able to get at least $5 back. I won’t even get that. Really awful product. If I could have left less than one star, I would have easily.

I am following up on my earlier comment, I busted a master case and an inner. First there were six packs instead of five and each box had three hits not two. I was very pleased with what I pulled. Sure the Rookie Rendition card stock is a little weak but over all this was a fun break so I am upgrading my previous rating.

Just bought 2 boxes at $150 cdn each, absolute garbage. Do not buy. Upper deck has to step up the quality of they keep upping the price. Just aweful.

Bought a case of Trilogy as I do every year. This is by far the best I have seen from Trilogy. Boxes are loaded with big hits. Thumbs up Upper Deck!

I’ve seen a few group breaks of Trilogy and one thing for sure, I will stay away from this product. Rookie renditions was created only to be able to say that there is an ”insert” in every pack. This is one other UD product that will be forgotten in a few weeks. Does Upper deck need to put a new product on the market every 2 weeks on average? That’s way too much.

I couldn’t agee more guys. $100 for a complete box of damaged cards. I used ro get angry and seriously now I am just numb. Upper Deck what is going on???

Always try to get Gretzky stuff. I dumped a ton of money on Kings in group breaks only to watch the shield auto puck come out with a rangers logo on the back. Might be a bad sign when a company doesn’t know what it is selling.

I agree with Oli. I’ve always looked forward to Trilogy but this year’s release is a huge step down from last year:

1. As mentioned, the quality control is terrible. Many cards with dinged corners and all Rookie Renditions inserts roughly cut with chipped edges on all sides. I even had an auto with a really crooked sticker placement. Just sloppy.

2. I’m sorry but the Rookie Renditions inserts are just garbage. They feel of the same quality as the retail “SP” cards they released as a budget version of SP Authentic. Lots of edge chipping and a design that really just highlights where a signature, swatch or serial number should be. Would’ve loved more base cards instead.

When you take into consideration the reduced packs and overall hits, this product has just the fraction of value it once boasted.

Trilogy is, or should I say was, my favorite hockey product but now it’s over!! I’m done with Upper Deck and all their garbage! I wasted my money on a inner and that was probably the last time UD took advantage of me!!! There is not a single undamaged hit, it’s incredible how bad UD quality control is…It’s also incredible how much garbage they put in their products!! Maybe I had a bad case compared to others but this is another point: how unbalanced is the product from one case to another!! I understand that you can get a below average box if you buy just one but in a 10 boxes inner, you should get a few hits that are worth it. Maybe I underrated the hits I’ve got but anyway, I’m done with this company, they don’t care about the customers! This is what happens when a company has no competition, they just don’t care…Save your money and avoid!!!!!

Somewhat unrelated, but there is a picture of a Brayden Point “Crystallized” to show off the new card design but no Brayden Point Crystallized on the checklist.

Is that just a photoshopped example of what they look like?

Ok, I see. I thought UD provides the exact checklist that we can see on your site.

You see, I am a bit of a freak when it comes to taxonomy and classification. As for the semantics, you’re right. All non base cards are inserts. Hence, I would list all the insert sets as such in alphabetical order for example. You could simply specify if it’s a memorabilia, auto, auto/memorabilia or a basic insert beside its name in the title. If not, one could understand that the Rookie Renditions Gold Foil Autograph Patch for example is a distinct insert, while in theory it’s really a parallel to the Rookie Renditions set.

On the other hand, I understand the reason you did it like it is now, because people are more interested to clearly see what are the autos and memorabilia, rather then have a strictly by the book classification.

That being said, I hope that I didn’t offend you with my comments. You do a wonderful job. You are very patient with people like me and professional. Your website is a reference in the field, and frankly it really makes my job easier :)

Now I understand what you meant by that, because UD wrote as such in the checklist. At the same time, that is definetely not the only insert in the entire collection. I’ve noticed that UD divided their checklist into categories: Autos, Memorabilia and Insert. I’m sorry, but Scripted Hall of Fame Plaques or Signatures Pucks for example are also inserts. I don’t know why UD only listed as inserts the Rookie Renditions. Ok, you can have autos inserts, memorabilia inserts, etc. but they are still inserts. Furthermore, for example, they list separately the Silver Foil Jersey Memorabilia Rookie Renditions, when in fact they are parallels to the Rookie Renditions insert set. Thanks.

I don’t understand, why it is said that the Rookie Renditions fall one per pack: “New choices include the various cards in the Rookie Renditions line. These fall one per pack, adding Red (#/799) and Blue (#/399) parallels”?

It’s impossible. Will there be 120 Rookie Renditions per case? Isn’t it rather one per box?

Nice looking cards, but not even a guaranteed auto? Are you kidding me? Hard pass on Trilogy again.

Wow. No guaranteed auto this year? Like I did with Artifacts, I will drop Trilogy from my buy list this year. Upper Deck is really losing touch with what its customers want.

While other companies in other industries try so hard to increase brand loyalty, Upper Deck pushes the limits every year to diminish brand loyalty. This pathetic trend needs to be put to an end. We should petition the NHL to do away with an exclusive license. The absence of competition hurts the customer and the downward spiral of Trilogy CONFIRMS this as true.

Upper Deck’s behavior is pushing me away from collecting hockey cards. From what I can tell with Panini, they still appear to try to please their customers with their basketball and football products, despite an exclusive license.

Why does the worst card company have to be exclusive to the sport that I love the most?

They reduced the number of hits and the average price per card is higher than the previous year. Furthermore, if the last year there was 1 auto per box and another hit (auto or relic), now they changed it to two hits per box (autos or relics). In other words, one could end up with a box with two lame jerseys. UD has the tendency to slightly increase the prices and decrease the number of hits lately. Way to go UD.

NB. The total price per case decreased comparing to last year, but the average price per card increased. A marketing trick I guess, ment to lure buyers…

Reducing the number of hits for I am guessing about the same price point leads to a two star rating. My thoughts in the past Trilogy was a fun break but the rookies don’t hold their value as other Upper Deck products. More than likely a box or two break for me instead of a case or case plus.

Trilogy was already iffy at 2 sticker autos for it’s price point. Now it’s most likely 1 auto 1 relic? Bring back Panini

Don’t plan to buy this release, but the cards look really nice (especially the Rookie Renditions)
