While the 2017 UD Winter set was aligned with Small Business Saturday, 2018 ties into Singles' Day on November 11. For those not familiar, the event is actually the biggest shopping day of the year worldwide. It is primarily thought of as a Chinese holiday, although it has seen greater global recognition in recent years. Think of it as China's Black Friday.
2018 Upper Deck Winter Singles Day Set Details
Collectors that visit participating hobby shops on November 11 can earn a 2018 Upper Deck Winter Singles Day pack by spending $10+ on Upper Deck product. Inside are three UD Winter promo cards from a lineup of 15 top athletes, and one info card. In addition to key NHL players, the set offers tennis and golf stars to go with basketball players. The basketball images are very casual given that Upper Deck no longer has an NBA trading card license. Pack-pulled parallels include Frost cards limited to 25 copies.
There is also a UD Bounty component to 2018 Upper Deck Winter Singles Day that officially starts online on November 11 at 10:45 AM EST. Each Winter base card has a unique scratch-off code on the back and the first 99 collectors who redeem the entire 15-card set via the codes earn an exclusive Green (#/99) parallel set.
All collectors who redeem the full Winter set online by November 16 are also eligible to win a random UD Winter autograph. 2018 MLB rookie Shohei Ohtani is one of the autograph subjects but not in the base set.
The 2018 Upper Deck Winter Singles Day event includes hobby shops in Canada, China and the USA. Some stores may be closed on November 11 due to Veteran's Day or Remembrance Day, so they might provide the packs on November 10 instead. A list of stores will be posted if/when available but it is still recommended that collectors contact their local shop to confirm they will have the UD Winter packs and which day the in-store promotion starts.

In addition to the main Winter set, other 2018 Upper Deck Singles Day promos include free Museum Collection cards for US and Canadian veterans.
