2018 Topps Holiday Snowflake Baseball Base

Past iterations of 2018 Topps Holiday Baseball took the flagship design and added a snowflake graphic. This was the case in both 2016 and 2017, and it continues in 2018.

Within the 2018 Topps Holiday Baseball checklist, collectors can tackle the 200-card base set that features many of the key rookies, including Ronald Acuña and Shohei Ohtani.

2018 Topps Holiday Snowflake Baseball Autographs / Relics

Hits comprise the rest of 2018 Topps Holiday Baseball. Options include the trifecta of Relic, Autograph and Autograph Relic inserts. While Juan Soto does not have a base card, he is part of the autograph set. So, too, is a Mr. Kris Kringle. However, he goes by his more common name: Santa Claus.

And, if you have a Target nearby, you can check out the seasonal 2018 Topps Chrome Update Series set, which releases about the same time.

What was the retail prices on this years release?

I believe it was $19.99 per box in 2018.

bought 4 boxes and still don’t have this set complete.22 cards needed.i like the thrill at 61 to get a jersey card.they aren’t too high priced but are cool! got 6 acuna rookies out of 4 boxes.book is really $24.00 on these as of sept. ???

I actually like the variation of Topps Holiday. I’m not one who goes for completing sets, so I don’t mind if I get several repeat cards. In fact, I give most of them to my son or his friends, so I’m very much cool with it. Plus, you can’t expect to buy a few boxes of 100 cards each and not get to get repeats, esp. since there are only 200 base cards in the set. The cool thing though is that I was able to pull a Gold Snowflake 1/1 Shohei Ohtani RC. I sent it off to PSA and I’m waiting to get it back — should be within the next few days. I can’t complain too much about the set when I pulled a 1:5,799 card, from only purchasing 5 boxes.

Excellent price point for us set builders. While the pics maybe the same. If you are just a collector and not a chaser this is a great year end product. It is also a great addition to a master set build based on the regular issue topps. We will definitely destroy this HOBBY again if we are not careful if all we want are major hit cards…..

I agree with many of the other comments: It’s nice to have a product that’s fun for set collectors and for kids. I don’t have extra cash to spend on cases of product or on high-end releases, so boxes like this are perfect for me. I stopped putting flagship Topps together years ago, so I’m glad there are smaller “novelty” Topps sets to collect. And I like the snowflake design!

This ia a great product for the young collector/set builder. 20 Bucks for the box with 1 hit. My 8 year old just opened his and he’s very happy. He likes relics MORE than autographs so he was happy with his Charlie Blackmon relic. Also pulled 4 of the cards that are textured and he calls those “hits” as well so according to him he got 5 hits in the box. We need to keep sets/products like this alive for the younger ones. Can grab him a box like this every week and let him build the set and gather his “hits” and watch him smile.

Bought 2 boxes at Walmart together. opened 2nd box to find 52 duplicate cards from the first box. C’Mon Topps, get your act together. This is a pitiful attempt at a new release. I will NOT buy anymore of these

Great for set builders. I bought 3 blasters and made a complete set from them.

Great set building product. The exclusion of Soto stinks but it’s a fun break at $19.98 a box and usually much easier to find then the Target alternative (Chrome Update). Plus adding a guaranteed hit (although most times just a jersey card) is a fun bonus, particularly for kids. Autographs are nice (and stickers don’t bother me all that much, it’s just a sticker), but I find it enjoyable to sort the cards out and put a set together. This product is perfect for that, right at 200 base cards. Metallic snowflake inserts are also fun and would be great (but difficult) to make a set of. Overall I think some collectors like to pick and nitpick at products like these. Take it for what it is, a small, fun retail set not overrun with parallels. Making this product a yearly tradition!

This is a review board, and I completely agree with the formers comments. Why does Topps do this? We really need an Updated set, followed by a Chrome Updated Set, followed by a Topps Hoiday set. The reality is Topps made a deal with Target and Walmart to sell two different products while having the Update set available to both (BUT RETAIL VERSIONS and NOT HOBBY). Not only that, but the Checklist! Please refer to my recent post under the 2018 Topps Chrome Update. At these prices that we pay, Topps and the Players Union must get rid of these sticker autos. They are going to ruin the industry. And to the latter peoples comments, how can you collect a set when some of the cards have stickers on them and some have hand written autographs. I personally would much rather get a redemption card than a sticker.

I look forward to putting together a Pink Chrome Refractor set AND The Metallic Snowflake set each Thanksgiving.

I love this product and wish Topps all the best of success in future years!
Happy Thanksgiving fellow collectors!

I look forward to this set each year. I’m a set collector, so I don’t get too bummed if I don’t pull “A Hit” (although it would be nice). This is an easy to put together set, relatively inexpensive, and for those of us who don’t collect the update sets, I appreciate some of the updated pics from the original Topps base set.

Nice product at a cheap price point. Autographs are a bit hard to get but are serial numbered. People need to remember that this used to be a “hobby” which involved collecting sets and was at a price point that even kids could collect. We need products like this to keep that alive. And people need to stop letting other peoples opinions sway them as to what products are good or not.

Just bought 6 boxes but after seeing these and other reviews I’ve decided to return them.

Looks alright, just wish they would use different pictures and not just put a pattern on the base set. Also, Topps isn’t showing much love to the Oakland A’s lately. The A’s almost rarely get more than 2 or 3 hits in the set.

Where is Juan Soto’s rookie base card

Brian Chu

Holiday set is the same thing each year, slightly different design and same product for same price. once again, autos are too hard to hit although they are serial numbered. 1:297 packs equates to 1:30 boxes, which is about 2 cases of this product. Not about to spend hundreds of dollars looking for a soto auto.

George

I agree with Indy above. Bought 1 box, looks like the photos are the same photos on the Update set. Won’t buy any more. Not worth duplicating photos just to have snowflakes on them.

Kind of tired of these retread sets. Enough is enough.
