User Rating:

Maintaining its two-card boxes, the Hobby-only 2018 Topps Five Star Baseball has no room for filler. Collectors can look forward to just on-card autographs or cut signatures in the premium MLB product.

The high-end baseball brand switched to the current setup in 2015 and has stuck with the two-card format since then.

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Autographs

With just under 80 signers, the main portion of the 2018 Topps Five Star Baseball checklist is the Five Star Base Autographs line. These hard-signed cards also have Purple (#/50 or less), Blue (#/25 or less), Green (#/15), Gold (#/10), Orange (#/5), and Red (1/1) parallels.

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Cards Checklist 2

New this year, the Five Star Dual Autographs set is limited to 10 copies or less. In addition, Five Star Signatures features a horizontal design and print runs of no more than 50. Using the extra space well, some players add an inscription.

Identifying not only star players, Career Year (#/50 or less) zeroes in on the best season for some of the top names. The Five Star edition is a one-of-one parallel.

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Cards Checklist 3

Mixing in different ink colors, both the Golden Graphs and Silver Signatures inserts display autographs using art paint pens. Parallels include Purple (#/25 or less), Blue (#/20), Green (#/15), Gold (#/10), Orange (#/5), and Red (1/1).

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Cards Checklist 4

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Autograph Relics

Not to be outdone, fans can chase jumbo swatches in 2018 Topps Five Star Baseball via the numbered Five Star Autographed Jumbo Patch cards. Featuring on-card signatures and large patches, parallels include Gold (#/25 or less), Silver Rainbow (#/10 or less), Team Patch (1/1), MLB Logo Patch (1/1), Laundry Tag (1/1), and Majestic Patch (1/1).

2018 Topps Five Star Baseball Cards Checklist 5

And the only cards in the 2018 Topps Five Star Baseball checklist not hard-signed, Five Star Cut Signature (1/1) honors some of the all-time MLB greats, while the Five Star Celebrity Cut Signature set is for the non-baseball stars.

I bought 1 box and hit an orange parallel Jacob degrom autograph 5/5 I’ve never seen another one anywhere

Opened one box on day of release. Hit a Soto auto /5 redemption. Redeemed it a month later, and I got the actual card two weeks after that (had it graded, a 9.5!). Amazing. Never had that kind of turnaround.

dont meet my demands

way over priced.. they ruined collectin for teens and HANDICAPPED thanks to this

Busted a case plus one more pack. From the case two boxes could be called okay. One box would be great but the hit, an Ohtani auto was a stinking redemption and who know if or when I will ever see the card? The other five boxes from the case were beyond bad. Tons and tons of very low tier autos. Some were even who are these guys??? In the next case I bought one pack and get this it had the exact same two autos as one of the boxes in the case and these auto were a bad box so I STOPPED! Yes, there are some huge hits in this product but for the most part Topps again has loaded up with a bunch of low tier and cheap autos. Good luck if you buy, as for me, think I have had enough 2018 Topps and canceled my Dynasty case.

There is nothing wrong with this set. I don’t think it has changed much from last year though. It may not be a product for “value” buyers, but it is a fun set for those looking to expand their personal collections.

“I hate cards! all products suck unless I get my guys 1/1 and favorite players every pack!” Go back to your BarcaLounger and yell at CNN. Cards are fun and this looks like a beautiful set.

Congrats Topps! This entire year you have excluded and continue to exclude an MVP candidate in Trevor Story. Also, Pudge with the Astros, really?

Mix Y Macho
Mix Y Macho

they put enough crap autos in this so that they try to give you a average or better or numbered one plus the second crap one in every pack..
if you are lucky there will be a Redemption Card included with your 2 signed autos – but Good Luck for at least the next Milennium in Topps ever making any effort to get those redemptions filled.
You will call and email and nothing…. but Topps will keep releasing product after product with that players auto in it… so they’ll get new cards signed but not the ones you are waiting for.. sound bitter do I?
