I like the Red Sox I got- Tiant, Youkilis, Martinez, Clemens but everyone is right. The Clemens and Martinez are 1/1 with no mention of that and One of the Youkilis I pulled was a 1 of 2 but in previous releases the SAME card was like /20 ! Kinda makes pulling a one of two like kissing your sister….

I pulled a David Cone 1/1 Topps Stadium Club Virtual Reality 1994 Card Number 106.

He is not listed on the spread sheet as a 1/1 list. This leads me to the conclusion that other years.

How do we know how many, and what are the total number of the highly sought after : special” cards are people chasing?

The one-of-one list is a specific group provided by Topps. These are mostly deceased players, some of whom have just one card in total. The rest of the signers have signed many different cards, and they carry many hand-written print runs. Cone, for instance, has versions numbered to 47, 46, 34, 25 and 8. All players have 1/1 versions. It would be ideal if Topps just revealed a total number for each player but that is not the case.

Topps is LYING about production numbers. I got a Jason Giambi card marked 1 of 1 and 3 days later the same card appeared on Ebay marked 4 of 10.Buyers beware, once again Topps is screwing collectors over with their bogus claims!

Also, most of the players in the Special section are deceased so these are likely true buybacks of cards that were already signed.

There are a whole lot of 1 of 1 cards, mostly of the high priced stars, that Topps uses to peddle their product. And a player that had an expensive 1 of 1 card from previous editions of this series in 2015, 2016 and 2017 can be found with the exact same card with multiple signings, which devalues those “1 of 1” signed cards. I suspect Topps had these players sign several of the so-called 1 of 1 cards to be issued in a future release.

FWIW: There is a 1/1 Mcguire buyback in here not listed in the special 1/1 cards. I just pulled it

All of these “1 of 1” cards of the stars and the ridiculous asking prices on FleaBay, $1,100 for a Hank Aaron 1 of 1 card, are rapidly turning me off from buying this latest Topps product. Apparently Topps can’t afford to pay the stars their asking prices to sign more than a handfull of cards for them. Collecting your favorite team used to be a kids hobby but greed has made it unaffordable for all but the well heeled adult collector and speculators.

What, no Jose Canseco? Maybe Topps ran out of his cards. Topps should have had his twin brother Ozzie sign Jose’s 2017 ’92 Archives card that actually is a photo of Ozzie. After all Ozzie used to sign for Jose at card shows years ago, LOL!
