2018 Panini Chronicles Baseball Cards

Have received great rookies in every box I have
opened(about 10 blasters).Would be my product of the year so far.It would be nice
if they had MLB logos but still a great product.

The bottom line is that not having the MLB team name or logos hurts the overall look of the cards. That being said I really like the Illusions design as they have that 90’s Flair Showcase look to them that is both classy and timeless.

Second Review – Now that I’ve opened a few boxes I want to update my first review a little (I dropped one Star, but 4 stars is still a great product in my book).

I still see this year as a HUGE improvement over 2017 in both design and value. I feel like Panini is flooding the Ohtani market though. I got 7 Different Ohtani variations from one box and 5 in another. I love having his cards, but if if everyone gets things in that quantity it drives down value.

I understand why some collectors are turned off by the lack of logos, but I hope they can see that the design effort of Panini is FAR superior to that of most Topps products. I’m hoping that we see a more fair deal from MLB in 2020 when the Topps deal expires.

2017 has 7 brands on top of Chronicles cards
Absolute – Contenders – Donruss – Gold Standard – Prizm and Spectra

2018 has 16 brands on tops of Chronicles
Classics – Contenders Reg & Optic – Cornerstones- Crusade – Donruss – Illusions- Limited – Phoenix- Prestige – Prizm – Select – Status – Score – Studio -Spectra
multiply times all those insane insert amounts. beyond crazy

Not sure I agree with the production math… remember last year the base set was 150 cards and there were many other subsets…. this year 60 cards and many of the new adds are in increments of 10 and 25…. guessing it is more similar or maybe a slight increase. But nothing compared to say Topps Series 1

2 spectra – 1 numbered and 1 not
and 5 numbered parallels of various sets.

did some math as I usually like to do with these posted checklists…
based on only 5 numbered inserts per box.
there has to be an incredibly HUGE print run for this product.

I am guessing like more than any product ever made by Panini…. thats saying something

really easy way to see who is want sets and insert sets in any brand of cards

ok – then we wont assume it was from Topps.
It was from someone who goes on every Panini Baseball product on here and mentions the same ‘no logos – no good’ on every one..
its someone who sure wants to downgrade Panini Baseball products in the minds of a lot of readers here..
but we are still buying them… no matter what they say.

love it how the Topps social media team always come on here to trash any Panini Baseball products not having logos…. they never miss a chance

liked that they increased the chances of getting a hit, design is good, wish they would put more cards in a pack for the price though.

I love the concept for this product, but without the logo’s / names on jerseys it kinda loses its appeal

If you look at the checklist they have kept the
“base” cards to mostly better players. That said I opened 2 boxes and each had major hits that looked fantastic as well as depth….. I get that the logos aren’t on the cards but this might have been the most fun opening this year. I would post pics except I wanna get more of these before the price potentially jumps. And yes ALL the rookies are in there in auto form

I love the variety of brands in this set but there are some I wish weren’t in it like Score and some of the newer brands like Status and Illusions. I’m really disappointed that there isn’t Gold Standard in it this year because they were some of the best inserts in the product last year. Overall the price is good and the cards look nice so it will probably be one of the better products this year.

MUCH improved base makes this a great product already. I didn’t hate 2017 myself, but the preliminaries on 2018 will leave last year in the dust.

Love that Baseball is getting Cornerstones through Chronicles this year.

Any early estimates on MSRP for this product? Will it be the same as 2017? ~$75-$80?
