2018-19 Panini Encased Basketball Cards

Bought a case for this one and quite disappointed with it.

For a high end product there seems to be a lot of nonsense players.

Rookies are ok since they are part of this season’s product. Still ok if they get slabbed.

The other veteran-retired players should not have been included unless he is a member of the Hall of Fame, numerous All Star appearances, and a championship player. (no offense, but who wants to have a cutino mobley auto or jerome williams, george mcinnis, rik smits)

Collation should include at least one rookie.

about $200 per box for 5 cards. Excluding the base card and the 2 relic cards (perhaps $5 each), there are only 2 autos left. The value of each auto must be $100 to break even. If there is no Luka in the box, you screwed…how ridiculous Panini is!!!!

Collectors want to (hopefully) open a pack/box and if they are fortunate enough… pull a RC of the player they want…. example.. Luka
BUT
they do NOT want to later find out that the product box they bought and pulled the RC of has multiple other cards in the base set of that player.
It makes the card that was pulled worth MUCH MUCH Less.

Panini cannot have this both ways..
meaning keeping the HIGH box price point – $200
and also deliberately killing the value of the RCs inside by making luka have 4 cards in the base set
108, 133, 170 and 215.

Yes they want to charge the high box price to maximize their profit – but then they want to make 4 times the production run….

why dont the brilliant brains at Panini understand that they are killing the hobby because slowly one by one buyers will open products like this and be ANGRY and slowly but surely the market for people who can afford to buy these expensive products will find another hobby … and in the long run Panini will not be able to sell all the different brands they used to.
this is just a horrible product in my opinion – even giving it 1 star is a huge overrate for this
