2016 Panini Flawless Baseball Hot List
A debut baseball offering from the premium brand, 2016 Panini Flawless Baseball features all the hallmarks of past Flawless sets. Loaded with gem cards, autographs and relics for Cooperstown greats and current names, the $1,500 boxes are out of reach for most collectors, but the overall quality is immediately apparent.
One big negative for collectors, especially at this price, is the lack of MLB logos. Obviously, this is huge and can be a deal-breaker for many. If you can get past that, there is much to like in 2016 Panini Flawless Baseball. On-card autographs are the norm as is a premium look for all the cards. In particular, Barry Bonds and Omar Vizquel have seen strong, early interest from autograph collectors.
Although the signed cards are among the key options in the checklist, the many large patches and elite Hall of Fame relics enjoy good demand, as well. Of course, this also includes the elusive cut signatures for all-time legends like Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb.
It might not appeal to everyone, but the high-end set touches on college and Team USA affiliations, which gives player collectors different themes to work with. It also allows the use of official logos that aren't found on the MLB photos.
Because 2016 Panini Flawless Baseball boxes run $1,500+ for just ten cards, singles are the much more realistic option for those that can't afford the extreme gamble by the box or case.
