2015 Topps Dynasty Baseball Hot List
Although slightly cheaper at release than last year, 2015 Topps Dynasty Baseball still sits at a level that many collectors won't touch. When you are talking about a one-card box for $250+, it is not the easiest sell. However, the ultra-premium product carries a quality design and offers some impressive cards. Whether you are planning to buy or simply window shopping, Dynasty should not be overlooked.
Promising one autographed card per box, a few things are immediately evident. First, the white-heavy scheme is a stark contrast to the dark look of 2014. Although opinion appears to be mixed, the Sharpie-style ink results in a bold signature for each player and immediately catches the eye. Beyond that, collectors can normally expect an on-card signature, nice patch and print run of ten or less. Helping that case, the lower-numbered versions generally feature the most striking patches. There are also limited versions that feature two relic pieces with the signature.
As far as the actual checklist is concerned, there are still some iffy names that made their way in, but the norm is still Hall of Fame players or top stars and rookies. Slightly disappointing, there are a handful of redemptions, including Bryce Harper and Greg Maddux, but they are not very common.
Other than the autographed relics, the only other possible pull is a one-of-one cut signature card. With names like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and Mickey Mantle, there are some holy grail-type hits to be found.
