2015 Topps Definitive Collection Football Hot List
One of the final Topps Football releases before their NFL license expires, 2015 Topps Definitive Collection Football shows that they intend to go out in style. The ultra high-end product makes its hobby debut with a focus on hard-signed content and large patch relics.
Limited to only hits and sporting an initial box price of around $650-750 for eight cards, Definitive Collection is definitely out of reach for many collectors. Despite this, the quality is immediately apparent in all aspects, including the design and checklist.
At this price, it is probably a little too heavy on first-year players but nearly everything else is in place for an impressive high-end release filled with current stars, retired legends and top rookies. While all the cards feature a similar look, standouts include the Framed Rookie Autographs and Patches, as well as the Inscription Autographs.
Showcasing a stacked group of signers, Legendary Autographs highlight some of the all-time greats in NFL history with large on-card signatures and a horizontal layout. The Dual Autographs and Patches also offer some terrific pairings that should appeal to team collectors or Hall of Fame collectors.
One negative for most collectors busting so far has been the amount of redemptions. No one likes redemptions, but that fact is greatly amplified at these prices and there are quite a few.
