2015 Panini Playbook Football Hot List
Once a rarity in the collecting world, booklet cards are the focal point in 2015 Panini Playbook Football. The high-end product can be a gamble, but some impressive book cards are surfacing along with limited autographs and memorabilia cards, and collectors are taking notice.
Although all the cards in the release are not booklets, many of the most striking options come in the multi-panel design. This even includes the base cards. Making good use of the extra space in the design, there are some large swatches of jersey and quality patches to be found. Down & Dirty and Game of Inches are both strong inserts and opt for a horizontal booklet layout.
Coming as no surprise, the various Rookie Booklet cards are among the most popular cards for collectors. In particular, the full logo patches and hand-drawn plays are quite captivating. While heavy on 2015 rookies, including Todd Gurley, Amari Cooper, Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, there is also a nice of assortment of limited veteran content. The on-acetate signatures aren't quite the same as hard-signed content, but is still a better option for most as compared to sticker autographs.
Not just limited to Playbook cards, Super Bowl Signatures are part of an ongoing insert set found across several 2015 Panini Football products that offer on-card autographs for former greats. Joe Montana, John Elway and Jerome Bettis are among the key subjects in the Playbook batch.
At around $90 per box, the three-card boxes are not for everyone. However, along with the risk comes the potential for some big hits and each box promises one relic or autograph booklet.
