2014 Panini National Treasures Football Hot List
2014 Panini National Treasures Football closes out the company's pigskin season with its cornerstone high-end release. While the high price tag limits its reach, historically the brand has produced some of the top football cards of the year, especially if you're into high-end, limited edition rookie cards.
But will this remain true now that Panini has sprinkled similar ultra-premium products into their release calendar with Flawless and Immaculate?
Among the big draws in 2014 Panini National Treasures are the Rookie RPS Century Materials Signatures. While the name may be a bit of a mouthful, the rookie cards come with jumbo patches and on-card autographs from the likes of Odell Beckham Jr, Derek Carr, Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater.
The premium rookie content continues throughout other parts of the product including jumbo patch book cards, hat logos and laundry tags. Also returning are the football lace cards that bring a unique look and plenty of texture.
But National Treasures isn't all rookies. Veterans and retired legends have signed cards and game-used memorabilia in the product as well. Among them are insert sets dedicated to the history of both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
It will be interesting to watch over time how this set stacks up against past releases. Not only does it have to contend with Immaculate and Flawless, two Panini sets that bring a similar high-end spin, but National Treasures is also releasing on the same day as both Topps Five Star and Upper Deck Exquisite.
