Racing has a deep and storied history. 2012 Press Pass Legends Racing focuses on the sport's best, combining greats from NASCAR, Indy Racing and the NHRA. Master boxes come with 18 packs. Each is divided into three six-pack mini boxes. Every mini box comes with both an autograph and a race-used memorabilia card. That makes six total hits in every master box.
The 50-card base set mixes current racing stars with some of the best from the past. 2012 Press Pass Legends Racing includes several new additions to the brand. These include Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen, a pair of NHRA rivals whose business smarts helped take drag racing to an unprecedented level of popularity. Other important racers appearing in the set for the first time are Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, Will Power, the current Idy Car points leader, and Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves.
Racing Cuts provides cut signatures from such deceased greats as Dale Earnhardt, Davey Allison, Cotton Owens and Benny Parsons. Trailblazers is both an insert set and an autograph line that celebrates people who made big impacts on the sport. The 15-card set does have short prints. Pieces of History is one of the main memorabilia lines. Among the items being used in the set are swatches from a sponsors hat worn by David Pearson, a Richard Petty cowboy hat and Cotton Owens garage-worn pants. Pieces of History also has autographed versions.
