2012 Leaf Sports Icons Cut Signature Edition sees the card maker return to a format they're known for. As with similar products from the past, every box comes with slabbed cut signature. Added to the chase are contest cards that will eventually reward one collector with an extremely rare Josh Gibson autograph.
Every card in 2012 Leaf Sports Icons Cut Signature Edition comes encased in a Beckett slab. Notable signers in the multi-sport set include Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Knute Rockne, Roberto Clemente, Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, Vince Lombardi, Mickey Mantle and Bobby Jones.
Leaf has also randomly inserted dual cut signature cards. Key combinations include Ruth and Gehrig, Jackie Robinson and Sandy Koufax, Muhammad Ali and Manny Pacquiao, and Wayne Gretzky with Michael Jordan. Jordan is also paired on another card with his late father, James Jordan.
Similar to the program they did a couple years ago with a "Shoeless" Joe Jackson card, Leaf has created a chase for another rarely found autograph -- Negro Leagues legend, Josh Gibson. Collectors who find a Luck Four Leaf Clover Card will be eligible to win the card.
