Product Details
Following the success of 2012 Leaf Best of Basketball, the company is further expanding into the sport. 2012 Leaf Signature Series Basketball is an all-autograph release that mixes legends with just-drafted youngsters. Every box comes with five autographs, all of which are signed on-card.
Some of the biggest names from the 1990s are among the set's signers. They include Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins and Dennis Rodman. In particular, Malone hasn't had a lot of autograph cards over the years.
Leaf has also signed deals with several members of the 2012-13 NBA rookie class, including 13 first round picks. Among the top ten picks in the set are Bradley Beals, Damian Lillard and Terrence Ross. Leaf's deal with these rookies grants them exclusive autograph rights for non-NBA licensed draft sets.
Besides base autographs, 2012 Leaf Signature Series Basketball also has several inserts. Inscriptions have notes added alongside the autograph. Taking It to the Hole and Droppin' Dimes focuses on standout playmakers. The So Money! checklist is filled with the game's clutch players. Leaf All-Americans is centered on the best young stars appearing in the set.
Similar to the popular Ichiro autographed patch cards found in 2011 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball come similar cards of Scottie Pippen. Each Scottie Pippen Jumbo Patch Autographs card has an over-sized patch swatch and on-card signature.
The print run for 2012 Leaf Signature Series Basketball is 400 12-box cases (4,800 total boxes).
