User Rating:

1993 Topps Traded Baseball hits the standard for the year-end release. The 132-card box set includes a mix of veterans in their new uniforms, rookies and prospects.

The year's two expansion teams, the Florida Marlins and Colorado Rockies, take up about 25 percent of the checklist. USA Baseball has 22 cards, including the Todd Helton rookie card. Helton is, by far, the most popular single in the set. Todd Walker is also part of the Team USA lineup.

Barry Bonds and Greg Maddux, both of whom signed free agent deals before the 1993 season, are key veterans on the checklist. Although not a rookie, Mike Piazza appears on his first solo Topps card.

1993 Topps Traded Baseball keeps the same design as 1993 Topps Baseball. Card fronts are highlighted by a white border and a nameplate that is flanked by two diagonal bars. Cards are numbered with a T to help differentiate them from 1993 Topps Series 1 and Series 2 cards.

Ryan is a former member of The Cardboard Connection Writing Staff.   His collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.
