As one of the new kids on the block, Score didn't waste any time branching out into the realm of late-season box sets. 1988 Score Rookie/Traded Baseball might not garner a lot of attention today, but with a couple of rookie cards of Hall of Famers, it deserves a little love. That comes from the set's much scarcer Glossy version.

At 110 cards, 1988 Score Rookie/Traded Baseball is a little bit smaller than its Topps Traded counterpart. Highlighting the checklist are rookie cards of Roberto Alomar and Craig Biggio. Other notable rookies include franchise favorites Jay Buhner and Mark Grace.

The design sticks with what was used in the main 1988 Score Baseball release, only with orange borders. Backs have a second photo and lots of information. If you're shopping for singles and want to spot the main set from Rookie/Traded, a T follows the card number here.

Basic 1988 Score Rookie/Traded Baseball sets are plentiful, even today. That glut keeps prices low, where they will likely stay.

This changes with the 1988 Score Rookie/Traded Glossy set. Printed in much smaller quantities compared to virtually everything else released around the same time, these get more attention now from those looking for more valuable cards.

Ryan is a former member of The Cardboard Connection Writing Staff.   His collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.
