1933-34 O-Pee-Chee V304B Hockey Cards
Product Details
At first glance, the 1933-34 O-Pee-Chee V304B Hockey set is little more than a continuation of what collectors call V304A. Both sets share the same design and are numbered as a single set. However, since O-Pee-Chee continued the numbering convention later with differently-designed sets, they have been separated into their respective series.
Cards feature a black-and-white player photo superimposed in front of a six-pointed star design. Additional smaller stars appear in the background as well. Each card has four possible background colors: blue, red, green and orange. A box below the player contains his name. The backs begin with the words National League Hockey Stars in boldface, followed by the player's name. There is a short biography presented in two languages; the text above a line is in English, and a French translation appears below it. A line along the bottom identifies the card as belonging to Series B.
There are 24 cards in the series, and they are numbered from 49 through 72 to continue where the V304A set left off. While they are considered to be scarcer than the first series cards, 1933-34 O-Pee-Chee V304B Hockey contains fewer stars. Aurel Joliat and Babe Seibert are seen as the key cards.
Again, hobbyists consider it to be a 1933-34 issue.
